When you are done

When do you consider youself done with a game? When it's no longger fun? When you beat it? When you get 100%? What?

I'm not done with games untill I get 100% Completion. Why I'll be playing KH1 and KH2 until the end of time. I hate the gummi ship areas. They SUCK!

Now unless getting 100% is TOO HARD like in GTA: San Andreas, done after I beat the game since it's too hard and too long. I can deal with one, but not the other.

So when do ya'll consider yourself done with a game?

When I beat it. Sooner if it sucks.

Although a few games are worth a replay, and a good deal of what I play never really ends- 4X games, Western RPGs, RTS and the like.

When I beat it. But I'm done if I get bored or stuck halfway, although I usually come back to it later. But I'm playing SMT: Persona 3 now for the 2nd time. I just want to max my social link. It's such a pain.

If i beat a game and get 100 percent on it I sell the game and get a better and harder game.

I don't know when ever I get anew game I get in this stat of mind where I have to finnish the game as soon as I play it. Therfore I consider the game over when I go as far as I can or beat it.

When i've cleared it i'm done. in some cases i continue after that like in sandbox games......san andreas is a good example...

But in even fewer cases i go back from time to time...like shadow of the colossus...epic....and god of war....

When I lose interest. Getting 100% means nothing to me, it's nice if you complete the game but if I'm bored then whats the point? A lot of times I'll get a new game and start playing it and forget to finish that last one.

And not that I'm accusing anyone here of this, but I have a lot of friends who will finish one or two games, and those are the ONLY games they talk about. They only stick to a certain series and thats it, and when people beat a game all of a sudden it becomes the greatest game ever, because they beat it.

I've never really completed many games. Most games completed by me are SEGA games. I feel that you complete a game when there are no more secrets or anything else to discover, and that includes cheat codes.

I'm "done" with a game as soon as I feel I have something better to play. After all, I'm only one man. I can only play 1 game at a time.

Depends truly on the game. I mostly beat games for the story. If its really fun, I will sometimes do stuff even if it doesn't earn me achivement points(Oblivion). XBOX 360. I used to play games to death, even if they weren't good.

I'd say that I am done most likely when I am no longer having fun with the game, or when beating it becomes too tedious and repetitive. I beat Tales of Symphonia at least 8 times and got to level 120 on one save file, got all the summons, next to all of the weapons, all of the extra garbs, all the recipes, completed all but one side mission...so on and so forth...before I considered myself done. I wasn't enjoying myself after 6 months of play, so I stopped completely.

I completed most of the grid in FFX for all characters, had all of the summons, had plus-9999 mods, had fully enhanced most of my legendary weapons, beat the game twice, and put in 137 hours on ONE save file before I was done with it.

Then, there are games like KH2 and RE4...I'm not done with those, even tho I beat KH2 4 times with Sephiroth downed, and beat RE4 3 times with the infinite rocket launcher and alternate clothing..and that's for the PS2 version. I'm still trying to get this-and-that in those games.

I bought Super Smash Bros Melee in 2003, kept it for a year and unlocked all the characters and 287 trophies, got bored, sold it, got hungry for the action again and bought it back, kept fighting and started over (unlocking everything again), sold it again after 6 months, wanted it back again, bought it back, and then kept it (and played a lot) until I sold my GC and games off back in 2006. xD

So, its not clear-cut when I am finished...done...with a game. I guess I am done..when I am done, or bored of it out of my friggin' mind.

I'm never going to be done with Smash Bros. Especially when I haven't found anyone locally (that I actually know) that can beat me.

I'm normally done with a game when I complete unless it has some sort of replay value factored into the game.

Some examples that warrant a replay for me are:

Multiple endings
Multiple paths to the ending (KOTOR, Jade Empire, Chrono Trigger)
Unlockable Characters/Game Modes (KH: CoM's Riku Mode, God of War's different costumes, Pokemon's Battle Tower)
Multiplayer (Halo, Street Fighter Series, Rock Band)
Completion Purposes/100% clear (Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy Series/Tactics)

The game is just too damn fun and I can't put it down haha.

If the game has extra minigame-type things, the OCD usually kicks in and I have to finish them. Or if there's a weapons list, something like Jimmy's Journal in the KH games, more than one ending, unlocking characters etc.

I'm usually done a game when I get all the way to the end. . . And then it's The End. . . Though, if the game is really good, I would play it until I can get 100%! ^___^

Once I beat the main story, it's kind of over for me as I don't really see any other reasons to playing it....even if it has online capability...(Call of Duty 4, ect.)
