For quick conversion, most Americans and Canadians (and Japanese, or so it seems) divide yen by 100. Unless you're dealing with very large numbers, the approximation is within a couple of bucks, so 5200Y ~= $52 US

If you wanted to get a more accurate result, you can always use Google.

last time i checked a dollar was 116 yens

although the rate is around 114 or so today, we just move the decimal point 2 places (ie divide by 100) to estimate.
