Anyone know how to mod a XBOX 360?

my friend asked me to mod his Xbox 360 but i have only red about it a little and so i was hoping someone could help me a little bit with this ?
I know it sounds kinda hard u r right about that 200%
so if u can help me or tell me a good website where i can learn more i would like that

Well i am not playing XBL i don't even have a account and i never plan to get one

You know about the red ring of death right? Well if you mod your xbox and you get the red ring of death then you are screwed. You can't return it to get a new one at all. So my best advice for you is to not do it.

What kinda mod are we talking about? Painting the system? Adding "cool" lights to it? Or a Mod Chip so you can play games from any region? If its the Mod Chip well then you kinda need a Mod Chip. And depending on how they're making Mod Chips now you'll need a wiring diagram and soldering skills. Also the 360's case just snaps together so you'll need to get it apart without breaking it. I think theres documents online how to do that..just try google.

I'm not talking about hacking either (at least I THINK I'm not talking about hacking) though I guess I'm not fully understanding the "modding" you're doing. If it's an aesthetic modification to the case like rf mentioned then it's probably no big deal but if you are adding a mod chip then if your friend uses XBL at all his account will be banned. No matter which type though again as International said you are voiding the warrenty in doing so, essentially playing russian rulette with the reported failure rate.

Of course none of this is relevant if your friend already knows the risks, though I don't think this is the forum to be asking I'm sure there are some websites out there with instructions for it.

Yeah thats true about modifing it and getting the red ring of Death.My Cousins friend tried to modify his and right after he got done it got the Red Ring of Death.He was screwed and now he doesn't have a Xbox360(instead a Ps3) but anyway i recommend not doing it because you should actually have your friend learn how so that when they do it and it most likely gets the Red Ring of Death,they came blame you.

If you have no idea what you are doing it is a poor choice that will likely end in epic failure if you do not know your way around a circuit board. I used to repair Photographic processing equipment, and have been working on electronics since I was an adolescent, and it is easy to make mistakes if you do not do your research and and know the layout of what you are working on.
