I prefer using Zack. He's got great distance closing moves, and his throws are pretty lethal.
DOA is my favorite fighting series, and with the exception of the occasionally frustrating AI, DOA4 is my favorite installment. Kasumi is my favorite character, but I really like tag battles with Kasumi and Ayane.
I like how fluid the games are, which are also easy to pick-up-and-play while still maintaining very good depth.
Oh yea, and the eye-candy is still best in any fighting game IMO.

I'm deeply in love with Hayate since he first appeared as Ein in DoA2 ;P I'm a DoA fanatic generally.
Apart from the beautiful graphics and wide range of fighting styles I think it has one of the most developed plots unlike most of the fighting games. Highly recommended.
Yup. I really love the way everything makes sense and connects to each others stories once you beat the game.
Love it! I like to just select random chars and tear it up in tag team survival...
If you are searching this space hoping for something deep or profound you will find only disappointment...

It's awesome.

I can't dig 3D fiighters like 2D, the movement was cool and the game is really pretty, but there was something about how it played that I didn't like. I'll give it another go during xmas break and see if I can warm up to it.
A MaruDashi Creation
Kasumi FTW... I am a huge DOA fan-boy with my imported Kasumi face plate, 4 decks of different playing cards, a variety of games across consoles, posters, Best Shot and Side A and B books etc, PVC/resin models and other things that I forgot <333 Unfortunately not long ago one of my models was damaged in a freak accident ='(
I am obviously a Kasumi user with Lei-Fang on the side, for DOA4 I kinda stopped playing after I got a B+ rank so you won't see me on XBL much. But something I like about this game is that is rewards skilled players and punishes noobs with the counter system. Anyone can get a fighter and button bash but experienced players can counter all of those. Interactive and stunning environments and nice characters to boot <3
Message me if you wanna play online sometime, need to dust and polish my skills again.
I agree with Hanzo. Ayane and Kasume are both my favorites and I most likely use in tag battles. I hate Christie, and think she's a, well, yeah. And I agree with everyone else, fighting Alpha is VERY annoying.
I just got my Xbox 360 and picked up this game immediately afterwards so I'm jumping on the DOA4 wagon extremely late haha.
Going along the lines with what Black Death was saying about the merits of the game:
I love the counter system although it does take some getting use to for people who are new to the series. I remember nailing my first counter, I was so exstatic(sp?) that I just let out a "Whooo!" out loud.
The graphics are always top notch and I find the fan service as a nice add-on to an already exceptional game. While most fighters focus on flashy moves, this one focuses on tight gameplay that is easy to pick up and play and extremely competitive adn fun when playing with a person of similar skill levels.
As Black Death pointed out, noobs do get punished and often times matches end in seconds due to button mashing the same combo which allows the veteran player to easily place counters, winning the match with 4-5 well placed counters.
My characters of choice:
Tina
Brad Wong
Hitomi
Most people tell me I should switch over to Bass since I use Tina because Bass shares an almost similar moveset as Tina with a bigger payoff. Well, I guess I do cave into the fan service of picking Tina nad her wide array of costumes, but also she's fun to use seeing as most people I play against don't use her. So to me, she seems like an underdog character but who knows, maybe she's used more often in DOA4 over Xbox Live *shrug*.
As you can see Tina is my player of choice haha, but my Hitomi isn't too bad and I just use Brand Wong for kicks and giggles.
So yeah, long post but overall:
Love the game and can't wait to take my skills (or lack thereof) online!

Me and a friend of mine are HUGE fans of DOA and would play against each other all day. We loved them all with the exception of the first one on PSX which I feel was horrible, just a project that sucked off the deep end. Hayabasa and Kasumi were my favorites. I knew pretty much every combo in the game and so did my friend. Also, each character has their own unique ending video cutscene which all of were awsome and linked together in a way... Lots of good music is another factor as well.
IMO Brad Wong has THE BEST ending video.

I love it I have been into the series since the dreamcast one
I use Helena and compete in off line tourneys a lot
Kiss me sweet, I'm sleeping in sorrow. All alone, to see you tomorrow. In my dream, I'm calling your name. You are, my love... my love... - "You are my love"
thanky yuki!
I liked it
I think it is pretty good. my favourite character is Leifang. The graphics are amazing but it is a fair bit difficult (or im just crap)
When there is nothing left to protect then what do I fight for?
