Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
That's cheating Eris!
Firstly it says "thing" and survival equipment is many things
Then you go on to be racist - by laballing a fremen a "thing" rather than a person - chances are your fremen would leave you in the desert
is not bitter

I'm so taking Eris. She knows how to survive anywhere.
And as long as I have a stilt suit, Eris and all her equipment and her Freman, we'll be fine.
And if I can't manage that, I'd still take a stilt suit, my own Freman (preferable Paul, before he went crazy) and my own Maker.
*edit* the Freman comes fully equipped with Thumper and all trimmings for riding the Maker

But a can of Yoghurt clearly is an object, so there is no reason living things can't be objects!
You are forgetting that I am a born and bred northerner. I think of a sunny 20C/70F day as a blazing inferno. I would probably be useful at night when it gets cold, but during the day, I would literally melt.

True, but try telling that to the fremen and seeing if you get a ride afterwards

Not to crush your hypothetical dreams but... um.
To the few people that said they'd bring lots of water, how are you going to carry all that water around?

ayy dyxlesia!
Actually, you bringing me, and me bringing a Fremen sand rider gave me an idea. One could start a pyramid scheme, where you sucker people into bringing two friends, and one useful item; where people up in the hierarchy get first dibs on the items. After just 10 generations, we would have 2047 useful items. The good part is that the item I brought was a trailer truck, which we (me and my generals) load all the useful stuff in and drive off, leaving the 2044 suckers that aren't me and my generals to die in the desert without their stuff.

rifle , water , more water
All these people that bring water - and not a single one brings a bottle to hold the stuff!

True, but then they can't go far from the lake, unless they bring enough to turn the whole desert into a lake - but then they would need a boat to cross

But surely it's going to raise a few eyebrows when suddenly a large lake has appeared in the middle of the desert, one that spells "HELP, I'M TRAPPED"; and surely, helicopters are going to be dispatched to examine this phenomenon...? and until that then, you've got a beach, a lake to swim in, and clouds to shield you from the sunshine.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
Chances are that the sudden appearance of a lake that size and one guy in the middle will be the least of problems - consider the flooding, erosion and damage done to more settled areas - in the sea of that chaos, one little person would easily be overlooked

depends on how much water it would take to seed a lake in a dessert as to how far its effects would reach

From what I understand, deserts aren't actually that deep. Just a few meters of sand upon the rock face. So it certainly wouldn't "drain away in the sand". I suppose you could use ground penetrating radar and laser based surveying tools to find a natural hollow in the rock face, and dump the water there. Or, you could somehow melt the sand into glass, and pour the water in the "glass bowl" you've created.

I would suspect through flow to be the major problem
However a giant glass bowl - sounds interesting - but I think we are now way beyond 3 objects in a dessert (I mean you either need a power line/a generator that runs on sand or a heck of a lot of mirrors)
