With space take a piano and spend eternity practising (aka Bender style) - besides at some point you should hit another planet - just wait around till it develops life.

But the pain is going to be intense for both of those scenarios. Unless of course being an immortal somehow shuts down the pain receptors in the body.

Eternity schmeternity. The concrete would crack and deteriorate sooner or later. What you need to worry about is what happens when the sun explodes.

Actually, you die when the water in your body forms crystals effectively exploding your cells. But no worry, you've lost consciousness a long time before that happens.

Immortality basically just means you'll never die. It never said anything about youd never suffer, be in pain or that bodily needs (such as oxygen) would be eliminated, did it? o.o I mean, you can be in immense pain and still technically be "alive" right?

But pain is a response to an ill effect on the body (cell damage, etc.). You can't remove the ill effect without removing the pain.

For one, I grew up pretty poor, so having a trillion dollars...well hell, it'd be awesome. I'd do some good deeds, splurge on myself, pay off any and all debt resulting from college (there's plenty to go around, lol), buy my own pad, and save the rest for kids and retirement/later on in life.

Second, living forever...meh, the idea of it doesn't appeal to me anymore. Once, I was afraid of death and desired to live forever...I prayed for it a lot, back when I was a religious lil' boy. But now, I am not. I think eventually I would get bored of life. Everything would become monotonous...a chore...at some point. Getting a trillion dollars and doing what I want with it in...let's say 60 years or so...seems more fun.


But that's just me.

You'd be in quite for the adventure! Death isn't an issue, right? Who knows, you might end up in a parallel universe where Eris is actually a bunny-cuddling, baby-pink obsessed philanthropist with a friendship canoe instead of a car and Sasuke isn't actually emo but a rational thinking super-ninja.

Problem is, you have no control over where you float (because in reality, unlike in platform games, you can't will yourself to change direction off the ground). So, you might end up in orbit around a star... or worse.

there are many people that do not want to work hard and live forever.
immortality wouls probably suck for alot of people.
and with the way the world is changeing. all that money you save up over the years will be wasted on stupid things.

All right, so I won't be able to choose which direction I'd like to go in, however...worse being? The human-race has long been gone, you're lonely and stuck in the cold depths of outer space. What more could happen? Aliens that go "nee!" come from nowhere and take you to their homeplanet and force you to play an instrument similar to that of a harpsicord?

I second you on that. Being an immortal human being isn't so fun cause you tend to get bored with things. Sure you have all the time in the world but once you accomplish one thing, you'd get bored and you'd move on to the next and the next and soon, nothing would seem interesting anymore except death which you would probably crave for.

Immortality-invicibility-total regeneration, deal! If you want money you travel to Afghanistan, laugh at the talibans who are crazy enough to try shooting you, take bin Laden and Mullah Omar to the gallows, voila. Or found a religion with yourself being the god and let your followers pay for everything you need. Plus, its not like boredom does have to kick in, its already time consuming enough to uncover all the mysteries on earth, and once youre done youre ready for the universe.
