Choose : Immortality or A trillion dollars?

I got into a discussion with a friend earlier. We were arguing between the two and which was more valuable.

I chose a trillion dollars and here's my rational :-
With lots of money you can lead a pretty full life before you pass on and not to mention the amount of people you could help with that money. Plus I don't know if I want to live forever.

He chose immortality and here's his rational :-
With immortality, you have all the time in the world and all eternity to make as much money as you want.

Although all this is just wishful thinking, I got curious as too how many people would choose one or the other. So pick, immortality or a trillion dollars and why?

I would take the trillion dollars, because we will want to die eventually, but we wouldnt be able to if we had immortality.

For a long time I was reading it "immorality" heh.

I'd choose the money, I've never wanted to live forever, even if I could. And you could do a lot of good with that kind of money, not to mention have a lot of fun.

I'd take the trillion dollars because once everyone you know dies off (like your family and close friends.) it's not gonna be fun being stuck in the land of the living knowing that you have nothing to look forward to except the eventual end of the planet.

What if you couldn't get old? Just to clarify that the immortality I meant also means that you retain your youthful appearance.

Eh nah, I would want to grow old with my friends and family and share my welth. Living forever has some interesting features, like being use to physical pain, doing magic tricks that WILL kill you but you will survive because you live forever and make a profit, moving from town to town showing people your amazing magic show.... but still, I would want to die someday.

Or you could help people out, knowing that you have all the time in the universe to do whatever else you want when you are finished and that your survival depends on nothing.

You could still have money and maintain love or friendships.... Though some friendships may be more superficial than others but you could still be likeable enough to have genuine people around you... I think.

I'd go with the money for several reasons...

First and foremost I don't want to live forever. I don't want to be there at the end of the world, I don't want to see everyone around me die over and over, I don't want the attention of every bio scientist in the world, I get the feeling that if I lived that long life would become a bore. I'd get bored of my favorite foods, my favorite music, I'd become the best at everything and so all the things I enjoy doing would become dull. I wouldn't value life as much as I do now. Someone said something about having all the time in the world to do what they want... I wanna do it in a normal life span. Who needs forever. I think you already have time enough to do everything, all you gotta do is value that time at the same time. Was it in Doctor Who that someone said something about some people living more in ten years than others did in 100? I also think that if you were immortal... A lotta people wouldn't like it. Some people in this world are still discriminating against blacks or gays, what do ya think they'd do if an immortal popped up? That'd take some getting used to. Honestly I think I'd just end up really, really, really depressed XD

I would take the money because... Well, money can be good. Then you'd have the cash to do everything you wanna do. People don't really need to know you're a trillionairre. I could buy all the CDs I want... Ya can help a lot of people with that money. There's not much wrong with having a lot of money :/

A trillion dollars. Why live forever if everyone you know, your friends, family, love of your life, EVERYONE, dies, while you are still living? Not even money could make you happier then, so I choose a trillion dollars.
