Russian govt. resigns

Seems as though the Russian government has resigned,

"Putin names next prime minister. Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted the resignation of PM Mikhail Fradkov and nominated a financial crime investigator to replace him." rest of the article on the beeb.

So, what does this mean? Anyone know? Will everything stay the same in Russia, or will things change? Even better, anyone in Russia with an inside perspective on this?

Sometimes I have to wonder if Russia is slowly slipping back into it's Soviet mentality.

Perhaps because it has constantly shown all the stability of a house of cards in a tornado.

I don't have enough facts to make any reliable comments about this but in my opinion it'll probably more or less stay the same in Russia. If the guy elected was a relative unknown then he can't shake up much can he? At least, until the next elections that is.

Did you know today happens to be Russia's conception day? Its a day where people are actually given a day off of work in order to "get busy" and try to concieve a child, as a way to help out their population and low birth rate. (The Article)

I find that really Funny. They actually get prizes if a baby is born in 9 months.

Anyway, man I don't know what's up with Russia, it's like they can't quite pull themselves out of the hole they've been in. It doesn't look like things are getting much better. But I'm interested in knowing why the PM chose to resign...I'm sorry for not contributing much.
