[Under a starless sky]

Recently my mom spotted a brown recluse spider on our back porch trying to slip into one of my dad's shoes. She killed it before it made it into the shoe.

What would you do if you were faced with this deadly spider?

I, myself, would probably scream like a maniac and get my brother or dad to kill it.

I don't even know what kind of spider that is so we probably don't get it here.If I do see one I'll probably think of this thread before I let it go its way.

Ignore it, because I don't know what deadly spiders look like, and don't need to unless I go abroad. Very little, if any, deadly spiders in the UK.

Kill it. I hate bugs in all forms. I don't deny that they are beneficial to the ecosystem, but I kill any I see in the house. Outside is theirs, but inside is mine. So bugs are cool with me outside, but inside they die. Spiders are 2 on the list of bugs I hate, 1 being occupied by centipedes.

Id probably slowly walk to the kitchen, grab a can of Raid, and spray it until its drenched in the stuff and dead. Then I'd step on it for good measure.

I would proably look at it for about 5 minutes...if the spider makes a sudden move...I samash it with a newspaper or smack it with a shoe XD

We don't have dangerous spiders, insects or snakes in Sweden, so I don't know. I would probably be blissfully unaware of the situation. It's like, size is directly linked to dangerousness over here. If it's tiny, it's harmless. If it's big, furry and growling loudly in your face, you run!

Back when I was down in Georgia I had to lay down in the middle of a forest. Nothing is scarier than seeing all different types of bugs and the brown recluse just start moving. I coudn't move so I all could do was stay still. They crawled all over me until I saw an opportunity which was like an hour and ten minutes. I squished the ones I could without exposing myself. But I am a much more squimish than this, a loose string dangling from my shirt that happens to touch my arm can make me freak out. That was also the night I had laid down on an ants nest without knowing, wish I had a picture of it.

Haha, I'll probably be too scare to kill it myself. And plus, it's disgusting to watch it get squash. I'll just tell my Dad to get rid of it. :3

My dad was bitten by a brown recluse.If I say one inside my house I'd just kill it with bugspray.

What Masali said. I don't care if they're outside. But if they're in mine..it's a death sentence. Especially in my room. On my room ceiling alone theres at least...5-10 crushed, dead insects/spiders up there. I leave it to warn the others who crawl around when I'm not there...and it works. xD.

Every now and then I get a spider who pays no head to his smooshed brethren. Most of the time they're like the larger ones..that were like dark black.. don't know what kind it is but looks creepy. When I move in for the kill..it's like staking me. We end up in a death stare for about an hour..cause when I get closer it just stops moving and fixes like it's gonna jump. I...hate that.

The closest I've come to any bug and not killed it was when I was like twelve. I was outside playing with my brother around eight at night. I'm on the porch and I see something large flying around like near my garage..I just knew..I freakin' knew it was gonna come over near us. And in a flash, it landed on my lap...some huge..grasshopper lookin' thang. I used my doll and flicked..or smacked it on my brother...he got up freaked out.
I didn't do it intentionally..it was...impulse. You'd have to had seen it.

Ever since though I'm the one they call when it's some bug or whatever in the house.

I would look at it and say, Your mine! I would probably put it on a piece of paper and put it on a hanging string. get my BB gun and shoot it. Or i would torch the little bugger with a match.

I think I would just kinda jump out of my chair and find something to smash it with. Or I'll catch it in a jar and leave it in there till it dies, I like looking at spiders as long as its through glass or something thick lol.

Brown Recluse spider bites, if left untreated, turn you into a freakin zombie.
I'm serious.
They are my number one enemy after zombies. As they are the ones who make the zombies.

I would only kill it if it was close to or in my house, though I doubt I'd ever see one, much less recognize it as a brown recluse.

Also, I can't help but be surprised at how many of you have come into contact with, or know someone who has been bitten. These spiders are nocturnal, shy, and like to stay away from people as much as possible. And being bitten is very serious, not just "oh yeah I was bit once."

I'd be much more affraid of a funnel-web spider, (though luckily they're in Australia, far away from me!)

I'd do whatever it took to kill it without touching it >.>
Unless it was one the street or something... I'd only kill it if it was something that would effect my every-day things. Like if it were in my locker or on my computer, ect.

I RARELY scream when I get scared. I just exhale/inhale/whatever.
If I'd see this spider... I'd do what I just said above. Then stare... and then ask someone to kill it for me. xD

well ii don't know what deadly spiders look like either, but when i'm faced with any type of spider i let out a small yelp no loud humongous scream fest or anything like that...then i try to kill it while trying not to get close to it or call my father to get it, so that's what i would do...

First, I'd look at it. Run in circles screaming. Run ALL the way to Jonwolfs house with a chair. Enter his house, beat him with it. RUN ALL THE WAY TO my friend Toms, scream, drop my pants and run around his house, grabbing a pepsi from his basement.

Then I'd come back. If it's still there I'd kill it, and cuss it out.
