A New Horizon for RolePlaying

Alright, don't know where else to post this, so I thought I'd do it here. :/ -Deep breath.- Here we go.

Is it just me, or has RPing been seriously downgraded these past few years? It's not so much that it's not the fad anymore or anything like that, but moreso the quality of it has just... died. Maybe I'm the only one who remembers having those epic RolePlays where you would become so emotional that the storyline made you literally fall over laughing or reduce you to tears. I know that some people have problems attaching their own personal lives to their characters, but I don't mean that. The sheer beauty of the language would be enough. What happened to those days?

Am I just a lone figure wrapped up in the memory of what used to be, or are there others? Discuss.

The sorts of people that dig online Role-playing have drifted towards wretched hives of scum and villainy like Gaia Online. Role-playing, in the internet sense, is a dead "art". No one wants to bother when even cheap gits with internet PC's can play RuneScape for free.

I take your side comrade! You aren't alone. There are few good RPers now a days, and well, I'm not trying to be feeding an ego, but I consider myself well off in the RP world.

I try to portray what's in my mind as well as my heart when RPing a character of my creation. At times my writing ability can be stunted, but it all depends on my mood. Currently I am in one RP here, because of my latest emotional changes in my life.

I'm actually making another one, and I hope all the RPers here will be interested in it.

This 'dead' art must be revived! Or at least spread to those who could better use it, and actually make stories brighter then video games and deeper then novels.
