As of 4:00PM EST all existing thread subscriptions have been deleted. This is due to us needing to take drastic measures to guarantee that all members are able to receive email updates for post replies, welcome messages, and every other reason we would have to email someone.
As of a week ago, we lost our whitelist status with AOL due to excessive emails being marked as spam by members from AnimeForum.com and AnimeGalleries.net. This is completely unacceptable.
We have noticed that a large number of members have email addresses which are not valid and thus bounce back to us when we send emails. This also will cause alarm at AOL and other mail providers such as Yahoo and Hotmail.
So as of today, all existing subscriptions have been deleted. Should you choose to receive email updates, then you must CHOOSE to receive these updates.
With that in mind, we will be strongly enforcing an old policy regarding subscriptions and marking emails as spam. If you choose to subscribe to a thread and receive email updates, and then you mark those emails as spam, then we will be forced to immediately and permanently suspend your account.
Furthermore, you must have a valid email address assigned to your account. If you get a new email address, then be sure to update your account! We receive thousands of bounced email addresses every week due to members having invalid email addresses associated with their account. All accounts found to have invalid email addresses will be suspended and have their email address changed so as to prevent any future emails from being sent out to that account.
There is no discussion needed for this issue. If you flag an email as spam, then we'll suspend your account. If you have an invalid email address on your account, then we'll suspend your account. No questions asked.
Thank you for your cooperation, and have a nice day.
