Bridge Collapses in Minnesota
I was watching on the news that a bridge collapsed in Minnesota and many poeple were killed since it was an important bridge, click ont the link and read the articlehttp://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=3438043 The bridge was rated as structurally deficient, and wsa being worked on wen it collapsed, dont you think the city should've repaired it as soon it was declared structurely defficient?

And what's your point? I don't see any discussion here. It's unfortunate though that some of them are badly injured.
I live in Minnesota. >.> Heard about it yesterday. I don't live in that area though. It's kind of scary, but I don't think I know anyone who was on the bridge. At least I haven't heard about anyone I know. I think there were 7 deaths, or around there.....and a lot of injuries, last I seen was 79 but that was this morning when there was still 20 to 30 people missing, so both of those numbers are likely to go up.

Yeah, and i saw a statistic saying(i think) 1in10 bridges in the USA is like structurely deficient i think, These cities are definetly gonna pay more attention to their bridges because they are scared now!

eh, it was actually scary for me.
my uncle lives in minnesota and would have taken that bridge around that time had his baseball practice not been canceled.

the city should of repaired the bridge yes and for if any reason they couldnt they should of at least closed it
I live in Minnesota, and yesterday was a scary day. My good friend's sister and her sister's best friend had just gotten off the bridge before it collapsed and since, I'm quite close to both of them I was worried sick, especially since they decided not to call and tell that they were alright, and just got out of the car and watched everything. Idiots.
And another thing, my parents and I would have to go on that certain bridge to get to the hospital my sister plans to have her baby at. And that could happen any day now. So, just think. Now we must take an alternate route. But that's really no big deal, now is it?
I know how to get to that area from my house, it's not too far. But hey, I seem to see things differently than most people. This did scare me a bit though. I must admit. I'm a bit shocked someone posted this.
And to get this straight, they were just resurfacing the road, how is that repairs? Plus the bridge was reported to have hairline fractures in it last yera, but no one did anything about it. No one cared.
I turned on the news today and they were talking about fixing other bridges, but all they were worried about is the amount of money it would cost to repair the bridges.
It made me really sad to think that we're more worried about money then people's lives. What an awful world.

if we fixed all the bridges in the whole of the us, then everyone would complain about taxes being so high.

Actually, I think stadium money is going to something more practicle now. I was irritated ever since I found out the twins would get a new stadium... it's Minnesota: if the team was good, it wouldn't be in Minnesota anymore.
The metrodome sucks and needs to be replaced.
Anywho, been watching the coverage here in Japan and everyone has been talking about it. I used to live in that area, but I was more of a 35E girl. Terrible what happened, but at least road construction season was good for something because it kept a few lanes closed.
