Thanks. You can get transparent bg with both png ang gif formats. Though gif tends to be a very lossy format, best use it for big blocks of colour.

I think .PNG is all around superior. that is why I use them. but I am still trying to figure out what people mean when they say I need to work on blending. any idea?

Blending is how all the different elements in your set go together. Like does the bg go well with the stock? Is there an element that just jumps out as wrong or striking? Stuff like that. I ususally get around blending by just blending the bg.^^

well I try just to match a theme, color for color, pattern and so on. but I also like the characters to stand out. I like the BG just to add to the char. not to be apart of it. you know use color to make an emotion. and such. well I try.
