Your ancestor's nationality...?

I was just curious...Do you refer to the nationalities that your ancestors were as in your own blood? Or is it just that they belonged to that nationality and I'm full American, Chinese, Indonesian, etc etc.

I say I have a bit of blood from my ancestors. So I say that since my ancestors were French, then I have a bit of French in my also. My mom is the one who sees it as they were your French ancestors so you have nothing to do with the nationality.

Me, not sure. Hmm..I think my ancestors are spanish, and, in my mom's side, I think, chinese, or korean, or Vietnamese, around those. I just know it's something like that, because of my last name.

I'm sorry about the confusion...I thought that the question was a bit confusing...What I mean is, "Just because your ancestors are spanish, and you live somewhere other than Spain, does that mean that you are spanish also?" I hope that's a little better...Tell me if it's still confusing, please.

As for my ancestors...I'm a mutt. XD I have a bunch of different nationalities in me! I have Cherokee, French, Irish, Norwegian, German, Swedish, Switzerland [I dunno if it's called Switz or Swiss or what....], Italian, English, Danish, Finnish, and I can't remember anymore. XD My grandmother on my father's side gave me a huge list of nationalities, and on my mother's side is only Norwegian.

I was born in America and have lived here forever. My ancestors were born in Germany. Does that make me German? Or am I not German at all since I haven't even been there?

My grandmother from both sides are chinese. But they know nothing about their family from there because thay came here bacause the British people brought them here to work at mines. Poor them..... But I'm proud to be Malay eventhough I've got chinese blood

o.o; Well, My mother was French all the way. Everyone in her family was born in France. My father, Is pure Romanian. All of his ancestors were born in Romania. So I am pretty much 50% French and 50% Romanian. I consider myself both French and Romanian Since I was Born in France because we were visiting my Mother's parents, and Romanian Because I was raised there. Does that make sense?

im mostly english and scotish with a hint of german (ya im all white..kinda explains me being pale and easily sunburned)...as for if i would call myself any of those i would if i wasnt proud of being american. i would call myself english cuz well i like being english...i went to england once for a trip and i loved it there so i really woulnt mind calling myself english, but like i said im too proud of being american cuz of my last name and all the people who share it with me...and i can say that even if i didnt have my last name i would probably change it to that name cuz i fit in with my family soo much, well at least the ones who kept our last name......and nope im not telling my last name
