I wasn't aware that "Everyone who hates anime" was a musical artist. Y'know what, I'll name my band that. My band is now named "Everyone who hates anime" and we take offense to your claims that we are overrated. GOOD DAY SIR!

People I think are overrated:

Maroon 5. Quit whining. This is a band that's not emo, but they just...well they just whine.

Angels and Airwaves (My school is absolutely ga-ga over a mediocre band that I thought had one or 2 catchy songs and THAT pisses me off)

Snow Patrol (You're not indie if everyone knows about you)

Every J-Pop/J-Rock band. There is really not much of a difference between American/European rock and J-pop. I don't know why people think there is and thus think that J-pop/Rock is better than American/Euro Pop and Rock.

I think Linkin Park are a bit overrated, I used to like them once upon a time but I've gotten over their 'sound'. Mike Shinoda is cool though ^_^

Okay I must SEVERELY disagree with everyone who said Green Day is overrated. They're one of the most talented rock bands out there; they've been making music since the late 80's. Any band that can come up with fresh music for that long deserves respect. Sure their songs from American Idiot are played constantly on the radio and you get really sick of them, but a lot of their older music is absolutely fantastic! They changed their style a bit, but I still appreciate their music overall.

Rant aside, I agree with most of the bands put here, such as Linkin Park, Fallout Boy, pretty much all of the punk bands with high pitched whiny lead singers. Avril Lavigne always sucked, and I don't even want to know who gave Paris Hilton a record deal. But I guess Paris can't be overrated as a singer, since I never heard anything about her actual album being popular??? And I'm disgusted with most of the rap artists out there; all they sing about is being rich, having women, and outrunning cops. It's ALL the radio plays nowadays...

Sorry, but Green Day ARE overrated, EVERYONE says that Green Day are a great band when they just arn't, if you want a great band from the 80's, think Iron Maiden, started in 1975 and are still as popular today, now they are a great band. Most of the so called "Greeen Day fans" in my town only like Green Day due to that dire album American Idiot, non of them have even heard their older stuff, except for maybe the odd Dookie song that plays on Kerrang (THE worst channel for music in the UK).
