    Default Favourite June Albums

You know the drill. Post your top five albums of June.

    1. Selling England By The Pound by Genesis
I must have listened to this album twenty times this month. A mind-blowing seventies' prog rock classic. The whole thing is flawless from start to finish.

    2. Autumn Aurora by Drudkh
One of my favourite black metal albums ever. Another flawless album, an atmospheric masterpiece.

    3. Glory Of The Inner Force by Finch
I am rather angry at myself for putting off this band for so long. A marvelous instrumental prog album from 70's group Finch. I love it.

    4. Filosofem by Burzum
Another black metal masterpiece I've been addicted to. While I prefer
Hvis Lyset Tar Oss overall, I was really addicted to Filosofem this month. Both are five star albums. It's almost sad to think after this he made Dauði Baldrs. xD

    5. WE HAVE A TIE.
The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place by Explosions In The Sky

The Texan post-rock band really outdid themselves here, this masterpiece flows beautifully and seamlessly and is easily their best album.

    And

    Times Of Grace by Neurosis

I have recently discovered this band and holy ****. Loving it. <3

Honourable Mentions: Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt, Magical Mystery Tour by The Beatles.

I do belive Stephen Lynch's albums still resides on the top, but I'll exclude them this time.
I have quite the mixed list this month, and I've had a lot of new albums and listened to almost all of them the same amount, but I think these are the one that has been playing mainly.

    1. Troll by Lumsk
It's just plain beautiful and poetic in every possible way.

    2. Paradise Lost by Symphony X
Another genius album by these genius musicians <33

    3. The Police Greatest Hits by The Police
What a compilation, I love it to death.

    4. Ghost Opera by Kamelot.
Loveable! Kamelot are still in shape, although I find this is the weakest album since The Fourth Legacy. Still awsome though <33

    5. October Rust by Type O Negative
Haven't had this album out in so long. It's brilliant, but I need a break from this band now and then.

Well it has been a rather odd month for me and it is reflected in my music taste. I have mainly been listening to Metalcore and Black Metal. I haven't been in the mood for most Death genres other than Death Doom [points to Daylight Dies]. Gone is Industrial and orchestral music.

My 5 most listened to albums for June are :

    1) Dawn Of The Last Day by Godless Crusade (2006)
Holy hell, where the heck did this band come from? Playing a rather aggressive blend of Metalcore and Melodic Death, somewhat in the vein of The Black Dahlia Murder, Godless Crusade have set out to slay just about everything. I can't get enough of this band and look forward to what they offer in the future.

    2) Deliver Us by Darkest Hour (2007)
My favourite Metalcore band, Darkest Hour have returned with their 5th studio album. This time around, they have fallen victim to the disease of using clean vocals but fear not, for the clean vocals add to the already amazing music. This is the best album Darkest Hour have released.

    3) No Reply by Daylight Dies (2002)
My first encounter with Death Doom remains to be a favourite and no other albums manages to drain the life out of me like "No Reply". "I Wait" is the most crushing track this American band has offered to date with beautiful riffs and well executed time signature changes.

    4) Winds Choir Opera by Drama (2005)
Another band I just discovered, "Winds Choir Opera" by Drama is easily one of the best Black Metal albums ever recorded. Drama's influences are instantly recognisable and early Enslaved and Emperor spring into your mind with the thick atmosphere drawing you away from this realm.

    5) Heaven Shall Burn...When We Are Gathered by Marduk (1996)
In my opinion this albums still remains to be the best album Marduk have recorded. "Beyond The Grace Of God" is on my top BM tracks of all time due to the icy riffs and the level of variation in the song. No matter how many times I listen to it, I never lose interest.

    Aw. I forgot about this thread last time. ;_;
Well, here are my musical squeezes.

    1. Left Side of the Brain by Fiction Plane.
Joe Sumner, Sting's son, sounds exactly like his dad on this album. Pretty nice stuff.

    2. Live Bootleg by Travis Meeks.
A collection of live songs from the first, second, and third Days of the New albums. I love them, madly.

    3. In the Natural State by Jimmy Thackery & The Cate Brothers.
Some good old fashioned-inspired Blues music.

    4. Electric Tears by Buckethead.
The softer side of the KFC bucket?

    5. Call Me Irresponsible by Michael Buble.
Figure I can't have a Blues album without a nice Jazz one to round it out.
