Sci-Fi or Fantasy?

Now don't stunt me on only having these but I have several different universes in my head based on either genre and I came out awesome with both though I can't decide which one I lean on more because you can make magic in both, literally and smash out-of-this-world justifications for them - and you have it.

So, if you had to make a choice between Sci-Fi or Fantasy as your favorite, your world. Or if you have anything else thats fine with me, post it dang.

And I mean Sci-Fi as the idea of Humanity colonizing worlds like Mars, Alpha Centauri, oxygen-bubble floating cities in Jupiter, a semi-realistic scientific backed theme. Lasers are a reality on spaceships but in the hands of a soldier, they're experimental and bulky. Chemical weapons are still around with ship boarding and intergalactic nations, cetera.

And I mean Fantasy with the cliché Imperial Throne versus the Liberation or nations of west thing. Roman & Greek mythology combined with Dungeons and Dragons in a reasonable world of economics, science, realistic weaponry by our worlds standards, cetera.

Nevertheless thats the kind of universes I created in my mind with both genres, we all have it different. Roleplaying back in the RPG was a fine experience and I look forward to a certain sombody's if he'd only come around...

So let this be a thread to explore each others opinions and ideas on these different forms, especialyl Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

Sci Fi is a sub genre of Fantasy I think.

But if by fantasy you mean epic quests with talking trees, I choose that XD.

Sci-Fi. Why?
Starcraft universe > Azeroth and Outland
Some of my favorite Super Heroes were born from Science.
Star Wars.

But I will miss Conan and WoW

That's highly dependent on what sci-fi you refer to. Star Wars and other similar productions border on fantasy, 2001 : A Space Odyssey is most decidedly not fantasy.

Personally, I prefer a good sci-fi to fantasy. Fantasy has potential, but it tends to get sort of repetitive.

Eh, the little world I go to when I'm sick of reality is as fantasy as can get. Been fine with it so far, so I'm sticking with fantasy. Lol xD

Other planets really aren't as thrilling as Dragons and I quote those above, "Talking tree's". Lawl
