Techno?

Hi, does anyone here listen to techno music? I was wondering because there's alot of song being remix in to techno such as Usher's song "Yeah" or start's off techno beat. So does anyone here listen to techno?

Very little straight Techno. I listen to a lot of Industrial (Laibach, NIN, KMFDM, Ministry) and a few other acts like Aphex Twin, Orgy, and Prodigy. That's pretty much it for electronic music.

Uhm, the only Techo song I've ever liked is called Damaged. I have no idea who it's by, but the tune is awesome.

Techno is pretty cool. "Satisfaction" is really awesome and the techno Pirates of the Carribean is pretty savy too!
I like all kinds of music but i like Techno, Rock, and Hip-hop most (which is a super weird combination so you may or may not want to take my word for much ).

It's all electronic,which is not my favorite...

I listen to techno ^^ and most of its sub-genres. Tho it's been a lot of time since last time I listened to non-vocal techno xD

Oh, I hate the term techno. Mostly because I'm a bit freaky when it comes to properly categorizing the music you listen to into its appropriate sub-genres. But, I understand that the word is used by the general masses to encompass everything electronic sounding.

But a very, very large portion of my music library is "techno", AKA trance, drum and bass, house, industrial/ebm, jungle, breakbeat, etc. etc., and even discreet sub-genres of those sub-genres, which I won't get into, simply for the fact that it's extremely overwhelming.

I love techno and pretty much anything techno remixed. They always sound WAY better than the originals. I aslo like house, industrial, electronica, trance, dance, etc. They are all good in my book, nice beats. Crank that trebble up baby!

People these days don't really know the true meaning of the "techno" genre. Techno is something in between house and dance genre. It's kinda hard to explain to those that don't really "hear" the difference between them >_>;

Techno features an abundance of percussive, synthetic sounds, studio effects used as principal instrumentation, and, usually, a regular, 4/4 beat usually with a tempo of 130–140, sometimes faster, but rarely slower. Some techno compositions have strong melodies and bass lines, but these features are not as essential to techno as they are to other dance genres, and it is not uncommon for techno compositions to deemphasize or omit them. Techno is also very DJ-friendly, being mainly instrumental, and produced with the intention of being incorporated into continuous DJ sets wherein different compositions are played with very long, synchronized segues. Although several other dance music genres can be described in such terms, techno has a distinct sound that aficionados can pick out very easily.

I like techno and happy hard core, a good song that's real fast is "Field of Dreams" I forget who it's by though. >.<; But I like alot of genres as well.

they're electronic dance, but i'm not anal with labels(since they don't mean anything as long as you know who you are)so whichever way you want it.

i loveeee them, and they had an album of other bands remixxing their songs.

mmm, Techno is awsome, and I have to say, I listen to mainly, the godfathers of techno, Kraftwerk, they are just amazing for their day.

Oh, and if there is a "robotic" voice or alil bit of techno at the start of a song, it doesnt mean the song is techno

Most of the electronic-esque music I have on my computer is classified as Trance. I'm no where near an expert on the differences between Techno, House, Trance, Dance, and all of the other sub-genres that are in or related to them.

But I do like those types of music. They're fun to dance to.

Right on, Wizz. For example, I know that trance has a 4/4 tempo, or "four to the floor" for tranceheads, but by no means do trance and techno really sound alike. Techno can be extremely minimal and grinding sounding, whereas trance usually gives you that "emotional" high of strong synth chords, and the omission of a bass line as the melody's about to reach it's climax. Actually, I think for it to be classified as trance, it NEEDS to have that element.

Techno could more easily be used to describe soundscapes.

Myap. I happen to have a terrible addiction to Techno. Mostly because of the beat, and sometimes the cut off timing. Mostly the reason I like it, is because it in cooperates most music that I like. Sometimes the reason that I have taken a liking to it, is indeed, because it has an awesome rhythm, that which sometimes allows you to be able to dance to it. xP

I love techno and the beat and ... such :3 It's not really my favourite genre. Sometimes I can get bored of techno really quickly, depending on songs, and then there's some songs I just can never get tired of.
