Did you ever get seriously ill?

Title says it, but for further explanation, seriously ill, meaning those sickness you've been through. Like chicken pox [did i spelled that right?] or any sickness at all high fever which made you confined in hospital, or probably makes you leave work or school for a couple of days, or those times when you were a kid.

I was confined at a hospital when i was like grade 4 or 5, due to high fever and a week of bad coughing. And didnt know i had a bronchitis. [but not so bad], and so that was my story.. what's yours??

i was admitted into the hospital when i was 5 if i'm not mistaken. i had appendics. then the wound kinda opened after i was kicked by some kid on the stomach and i was admitted again. i think tat was the worst i had experienced. i remember not being able to eat or drink b4 and after the surgery when i regained my consciousness.

I was in hospital at 6 months old with an ingrown toe nail.I get the nail taken off .Then the ingrown toenail comes back to me(I have currently have one-_-)

I've had chicken pox, but it didn't land me in a hospital.

The only thing that's sent me there was appendicitis.

The worst thing that happened to me was when I was seven I got bit in the foot by a fire ant and my whole foot swelled up cause I'm allergic. I had to go to the emergency room but I just got some penicillin.

NOPE not even once but i had a high fever....but not admitted to the hospital!

Penicillin?! What, were the doctors drunk or something? That exclusively treats bacterial infections. ... and as you said, it was an allergic reaction, so they could just has well given you an ice cream cone. It would not have had any more or less effect than penicillin.

Actually the funny thing is that it didn't help me, that's how I found out I was allergic to penicillin also.

When I was an ickle tyke I caught pnemonia. Other than freaking out and hiding under a bed nothing major happened, well I lost a teddy bear and it seemed major at the time but like I said I was just a kiddie.

I've actually never been to a hospital because of me being ill. Never. I think I've been "seriously ill" for like a week, at max. That's my record.

I drank some bad water as a kid and was sick for a week.... I threw up all over the hospital floor >>

First time i tried to ride my bike without my hands on the steering wheel... *after seeing someone else do this*..... ofcourse I fell off of my bike.... hit my head on the road *I think*..... I had a bad concussion and had to be taken to hospital.... after I had come home.... after biking 5 km after I fell and hit my head.... >>

yeah Ive hard the chicken pox, but I was a baby and didnt remember it.
Though, I did get so sick that I had to be put in the hospital and nearly died. What a great Christmas that was

I got the chicken pox when i was 17 and i got really sick but i didnt have to go to the hospital thought.

The worst that's happened to me is that I got the chicken pox (in 4th grade) and had to stay home for a week...I also had pink eye in 2nd grade...but that wasn't big at all...I even got to go to school without medication...weird...

I had to take off a few days in fourth grade because I had a cross between a cold and a stomach bug...is that the Flu? Anyway, it was awful and I laid on the couch with an icepack on my head all day.

It's funny how you usually hate school, right up until you get brought down by a sickness and you kind of want to go back.

I wasn't at the point that needed to be hospitalized, but i had an oral surgery to take out ALL 4 of my wisdom teeth out at one time. I was in a sleep. After the surgery, the doctor slapped me to wake me up, then i passed out cos of the loss of blood, i was feeling like puking. Then i was seriously ill for almost a week, i had to lay down on the bed for the whole week, i couldn't bite of food but to swallow, and it was painful when i wanted to drink water, and i had to be slow too or else it'd bleed. It DID bleed again and a lot too, then i passed out again.

That week was all about passing out, getting sick, and getting frustrated.

One time, i was playing with snow with bare hands, then i got cold burned on my hands. About 5-6 hours later, cold rashes started to grow everywhere on my body that itched me close to committing suicide, it didn't stop growing for 2 weeks. The scariest thing was that those cold burned rashes were growing inside my mouth too, my tongue and my lips...which was scary, and i suffered so much.

When i was nothing but a wee baby smile. my dad[the smart one that he is, he should of known by then since he had 5 other kids before me]

Of course babies cant eat tortillas at the age of 1-2
It can give them diarrhea and they can die.
Well i almost died.

Last time I was in the hospital was a few years ago. I needed an IV for dehydration and potassium deficiency... wasn't as bad as I imagined it would be.

My appendix burst. It hurt. Alot. Had to go into emergency surgery right away at a specialty children's hospital in delaware. So I was rushed to a hospital 2 hours away. Longest. 2 hours. Ever.

Well, the last time I was ever truely sick was when I had bronchitis. I mean really really BAD bronchitis. I had to get breathing treatment, an inhalor, multivitamins, antibiotics, etc. I stopped eating and drinking for a long time. My parents finally decided to shove it down my throat cause they didn't want me to go to the hospital, though I still think I would have been better off in a clean environment and not full of my parents cigarette smoke..

I also had to go to the emergency room cause I got blood poisoning after stepping on a poisonous thorn. That was when I was a child, and right after I got the chicken pox cause this idiot lady decided to bring her contagious twins into the hospital waiting room. =.=

I was really young but they illness stays with you all your life but it can become active after that first time xx; all I remember of it though was being in a hospital and trying to bite a nurse because she was tryin to give me a shot which they gave up and gave it to me when I was asleep lol and that if you waited to long for it to get treated, it could mean death
