Keep an open mind to new ideas, and take things objectively.

If you don't understand the implications of what happened you are never going to understand how you should react.

For when I'm bummed out: When you feel any emotions, wallow in them. Enjoy them. Make them last as long as you can. Stir up the worst things in yourself. One day you will not be able to feel anything.

I hope that that communicates the idea and it's implications as well.

This could mean any number of things, you can take from it what you like.
