For the poets of AF this is for you


Forget the ways they write their songs
You have your melodies,
Just do your thing and write a lot,
A poet then you’d be.

‘Cause a moment’s piece can do without
Old meters and some rhymes,
For what impedes a genius most
Are structures they can’t ride!

Most people care not ‘bout the rhymes
But what your Words are Worth,
Nor, do most care for meterings
Like a Shaking shaft of Spear;

Most people would just Melt On words
If they know what you mean,
Much like the tested Wit of Man
Whose lines are lush and green!

Forget now how they write their songs
They have their melody,
But don’t forget the songs they write
For that’s their poetry;

You have your style, improve it lots,
Be it with, or, without rhymes,
Just do your thing and do it much
With a foot, or feet, or none!

Just don’t forget that poetry
Is what you feel inside;
They have theirs as you have yours
Like the moon and sun up high!
