Hey, it's Gintara again, and today I'm going to show you a REALLY SIMPLE signature tutorial. When I mean simple, I really mean it.
We'll be making this:
Now first of all we need some pictures from a certain manga; I'll be using these:
![]()
Now open a new document on Photoshop; mine will be 345X135.
Here's a question: How do you get those manga pics onto the sig? Well it's easy.
We'll be learning how to use the Quick Mask mode for this.
On one of your manga pictures, select all (Ctrl+A) and Copy(Ctrl+C)
Make a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+N) and fill it in with black.
Now on the b;ack layer, go to your tool bar and below the color palette thing(the two colors) there should two icons; one with a white box with a circle and a black box with a white circle. Go click the black box.
Now still on the black layer, go ahead and paste(Ctrl+V). Now your manga page should all be in red. We want that.
Now go ahead and go click on the withe box; the red should now be a selection. Go hit delete.
Your manga page is now transparent!

Now back to the sig.
Go fill it with any color you desire. Make sure it's a nice one.
Now here's the sig with the manga inserts in it:
No, we are not finished yet. We have to add color to the lines! How...?
Well first merge all yyour manga layers(Ctrl+E) into one layer and go to Hue/Saturation(Ctrl+U).
This window should pop out.
There's a box on the bottom right that says COLORIZE. Go click on that.
The window should be the same but now when adjusting the bars, the lines are now a different color. Go ahead and adjust until it looks nice and matches nice with the background color.
Now for some text! If you have some space left, you can type in with a nice font. I prefer either Arial Black in caps or times new roman.
Make sure it is the same COLOR with everything else.
Now that should be it. Really simple.
If you have any questions go ask me here in this thread and feel free to post your results here! I would love to see them!
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the quick mask mode technique is also a good way to clean your lineart in your drawings heh...
