I stay awake until I know I can go to sleep. Like, I don't even try to sleep if I know it won't work out. I hope that makes sense. I just watch TV, post on forums, or something like that.
Play video game, watch TV, go online, and listen to my music.

like my bed-time is 10, so if i stay up past i get in trouble, and even when i am real tired i can't sleep.
my mind doesn't stop thinking...
and... well the Ouija board told me and my friends that i have ESP and i'm an oracle, so i don't sleep well bcuz entering my dream state is, well for me, a séance

COUNT SHEEP!!!! I guarantee that by the time you get to a million, you'll fall asleep....
And for Daydreaming, I start by setting up a fictive scenario and keep running it trough my head until it becomes perfect *this creates a satisfied feeling* and I finally drop asleep *this can take hours though*
Regulate your breathing... this means close your eyes and create a sleep-like state... sooo close your eyes and take slow deep breaths....
As for me I can do with 5 to 6 hours of sleep a day, if I sleep more than that I just wake up tired
Probably why I'm so random all the time.
I just pick up a book and read...then stay up until 6 AM reading...then fall asleep in History...
Really, who gives History as the first class of the day?! No wonder my class is failing. Seesh.
But, ya. Try reading. =) It (sometimes) helps me~
Watch television or focus on just one thing and prevent your thoughts from wandering.

Sometimes I start to draw the first things that come to mind, and then sometimes I simply lay in my bed and stare at the ceiling.
I play playstation or watch tv until I can't keep my eyes open.
I create a little happy daydream for myself until I fall asleep. Or I just think about me falling asleep....Or I watch tv until I drift off....ZZzzzz
it is advisable to read a book,or drink a glass of milk.I do those things.

Well, I just fall asleep easily without even expecting it. I don't think that ever happens to me, I just fall asleep. But just in case I'm wrong, I would probably lay on my bed and think about things for a while, until I feel sleepy.

Since I get exam/test anxiety, I read some stuff on how to fall asleep when your nervous about it. And I have found that it helps when you just can't sleep, also.
- Tense up your body for at least 5 seconds
- One at a time (after your 5 secs are up) relax each part of your body starting with your toes, going to your feet, shins, thighs, buttocks, back, upper back/shoulders, neck, face, forehead, etc etc...
- This excercise is based on the theory that muscles can relax more once they're relaxed immediately after they're tense
It really did help to relax me when I couldn't sleep because of exam/test anxiety. And I found it helped for any other anxiety. And that it helps me to fall asleep whenever I can't sleep. I hope this helps...I've been going sleepless for awhile now...It really isn't fun at all!! ><
