So anyone watch the show? I myself find it pretty interesting. It's better then Man vs. Wild.

It's not the most entertaining show in the world, but it teaches you some cool tricks if you ever found yourself in the wilderness alone.

Ugh. I thought this show was HORRIBLE. Killing poor little rabbits and biting off snake's heads! Not something I want to see.

Sure, it teaches you about survival in the woods... but it's totally unbelievable at the same time. "No camera crew," is bull. There are cameras everywhere, at different angles, all the time. He probably has a helicopter chasing after him 24/7. Sure, they don't help him or anything...

But if actually faced REAL danger, they'd be there to pluck him right up like nothing ever happened.

Yeah, because being the star of the show makes you completely incapable of handling cameras OR climbing trees. Right.

Frankly I really like the show. Obviously I don't think I'd ever be in a situation where I'd need rescuing and the tips he gives would be handy, but you never know what might happen; one episode dealt with a major storm hitting a big city and knocking out water and electric, which is FAR more likely to happen to me than being stuck on the Brazilian coast. Apart from regular survival techniques, he teaches something EVERYONE needs to remember: DON'T PANIC.

Q. Do you really run all the equipment yourself ? Isn't there a crew with you?
Les: I have a crew come in with me for the first introduction day only - then they leave me alone to do my thing for the week. That's the way it has to be or I don't have a show. So I run all the cameras myself - set ups and tear downs...build my shelters and try to catch game...start my fires...all completely alone. Sometimes the crew knows where I am...sometimes they don't...and sometimes there has been no back up crew - I'm out there on my own until the end of the week.

Ah, I see. So they're there in the beginning and know where he is sometimes, sometimes not. Well then there ARE sometimes. =)

I guess when it gets more dangerous they disappear. Still doesn't pique my interest though. I don't like seeing people squeeze the moisture out of elephant dung and drink it, etc.

Still a funky show.

That show should just die. In fact, that genre of shows should just die. There isn't enough contemptful words to describe my burning hatred for shows like Who wants to be a Millionaire, Deal or No Deal, Poker Face etc.
