Do you like anime because of the drawings of the anime or the storyline?
For me its the storyline . At first i thought i liked anime for how nice the drawings are . Then a few months later i realised that i liked anime for the story .

The artstyle is of primary importance too me, if I don't like the art, then chances are low I will watch the anime. Story comes in second, but a very close second. Many times have I watched an anime with art that I found fantastic, only to be driven away after a few episodes because I found the story to be either dull or not something I enjoy.

Well... I mostly enjoy watching an anime of nice art; I wouldn't watch a crappy art show. But seriously, what's art without a story? Nothing.
It has to be a little of both. If the anime has crappy art then no one's going to even look at it and a good plot is needed to keep people coming back for more.

I seem to be more attracted to the art style of it, but if its a crappy storyline I probally wont stay tuned into it for long. Art first..story comming close into second.
Thankyou Darky-chan for this siggy!
I know this is shallow, but the art is more important to me. If an anime has bad art, I can't even pay attention to what's happening in the story.
right now when i looked at the question i thought the story was more important (to me) but then there was a show on tv while i was flipping through channels and it had bad drawing and i didn't even stop to look at what it was about.
Do you like blueberrys?Me? I haven't reallyTried blueberrys.
It depends. If an anime has a really good storyline, I'll watch it. But it'll need a lot of things to make up for the bad art. It's the drawings that concern me, mainly.

I pick story. I mean yea you need art and story but i think if you have a great story and have good art then it will probably be a good anime. I mean I can take some animes with not as good art as others but if i like the story then I'll be fine. I mean if you read the manga for Fooly Cooly that has some werid art but I still read it because its has a good plot.
alil' bit of both...i tend to lean toward the artwork at first...i would watch a series base mostly on pics. of the show at first...then i would watch it...however, if the storyline sux but the art is great, i still wouldn't continue if it didn't interest me. i've also watched series where the storyline is good but i'm not much of a fan of the artwork, example buzzer beater...i didn't mind the show, but the artwork really didn't click with me.

I think that it is the art that makes me decide to watch an anime but it is the story that keeps me there.
Although the art is an influence for me, I seriously say the story is by far more important. Honestly, I could be watching an anime that has the best art that I have ever seen but lets just say it has little to no story, it would be like staring at a wall with beautiful artwork on it, as eye catching as it may be, it would still be a wall and walls do nothing.
I like the art mostly. It leaves was an influence for me to draw something like that. The story line is important too. If the story line is terrible, forgot about the art, I won't like it.

I like both, but maybe the art beats story just a little.

it's the art that attracted my attention at first...i can say that anime taught me how to draw. But i grew to love the stories too...and the characters! The personalities attract me lot, too,so much so that sometimes i forget about observing the drawing style...

i like both because they good together
Artwork and story run real close together with me. Top one out of them...probably the story because that is what gets me drawn into the anime.
If the artwork isn't what I like and love the story, I usually go with the manga all the way then.

Anything you want to say to me? PM me.
I think that both are pretty important. If the story line isn't good, then what's the use of watching a boring anime just because the artist can draw well? Then there's Paranoia Agent, which I enjoyed a lot. I'd have to say that the drawing was...unique, but the story line kept me interested. And sometimes, it comes to a point (in some animes) that the way the artist draws can effect why someone watches it. If the drawings are horrible, then nobody wants to watch it. So, I think that both really matter in an anime.
