Last Episodes- ....Wha?

Can someone PLEASE explain the last few episodes of NGE to me?!?! I have NO IDEA what they were talking about and it's all just very confusing. Plz respond!!

What your probably talking about is the episodes where we delve into the Shinji's subconcious and see the alternate world. Its been a while but i do remember its basically Shinji coming to terms with his reality which has been the subject of the series from the beginning. Shinji, over the series, keeps trying to escape a reality he doesn't want and refuses to face, showing the more human side of the "destined hero". In these last couple episodes we are given a stream of conciousness glimpse into the mind of Shinji as he finally comes to terms with the events of his life and accepts what has and what will happen. And it is with his acceptance the story ends. While the ending doesn't answer questions about the external plot thats fine, its not supposed to. The external plot (the angels, EVAs and all that rot) was just a background to show a real human being put into extraordinary circumstances and, like all of us would, he attempts to run away from them. Its actually in a way satiring the genre as a hole where normally the protagonist settles into his role quickly and with only a brief time of dwelling on the past. Here the hero constantly tries to escape his destiny in much the same way as Oedipus does in Sophocles' Oedipus the King the first play (i believe) of the Oedipus cycle. However, Shinji realises he can't escape who he is and that the only way he can ever find peace in his life is to grab the bull by the horns (so to speak) and move forward
