Don't you hate it when you buy something you "need" when you already have something that already does the same thing? Like, let's say you have a tv. Then, you decide to waste more money on a plasma screen. Does it make sense? You'll still be staring at cable all day! I really hate this issue, since I think you should buy the necessities and shouldn't buy things that practically are the things you already have.

It doesn't bother me. I have a TV and it's....older than me. So I *Need* a new one. T.T

Besides, many of the inventions made now and days are made to do things more efficiently. And what's not to brag about a nice new plasma screen?

I had a 28" tv I since put into my bedroom. It is there now because I upgraded to a 52" HD tv in my living room.

Let's see... 28" tv or a 52" HD one. Same general idea - its a tv. Only one is way bigger, sharper, and better to watch.

I believe it is called improving what you have instead of settling for less. Why, if we believed in settling for less, we'd be like Africa right now.

It's a question of priorities. Some people find it worth it to pay $2,000-$10,000 for a new TV. Some people are satisfied to watch their 13 inch black and white, and spend thousands of dollars to pimp their ride.

Seriously though. If it bothers you to replace your tv, then don't do it. It's up to you.

There are always gonna be improvements on products. I personally prefer to upgrade things, if I can afford it. But if the new product is not much better (for example, Ipod or Ipod nano...they do the same thing) then I don't feel the need to upgrade.

Depending on what it is, if it's a tv then no. It really just varies with products.

When it's something that needs to be replaced yes, but when it's something that works perfectly (like my parents having to buy a new car when we have one that works perfectly!) it's really stupid.

Especially since the money that went into that stupid car was what they were going to use to buy me my bassoon. Oh well... I got one in the end anyways. XD

I don't mind buying a product that's a step higher in quality than another similar one I already have...for example...I had a Gameboy Color, then I bought an SP, now I have a DS. However, I don't like it when I buy something, only to find something else that I want more that I could've spent that money on. ><

I don't know, I have three computers, and I need and use all of them. There are instances when more of one thing actually fills a function.

I say it's alright if it's an upgrade. I used to have a Creative Zen Nano mp3 player, then about three weeks ago got the Insignia media player. Does the same things plus more........except for the voice recording function. But still, now I got music, video, pictures and radio AND an extra 3GB of memory for only about $50 more than what I payed for the Nano (I soooooooo got ripped off with that one). People upgrade all the time, just look at all the game systems. Besides, it's nice to get a little something for you once in a while. You gotta spoil yourself sometimes.
