皆さん、始めまして。
享年から日本語を習ってみますが、ちょっと難しいですね。
皆さんはどんな教本を使っていますか。
GENKIを使っている人がたくさんあると思いますけど本当にいい教本ですか。

Text book is really written like this more commonly though "kyouhon" is also alright though I don't see it ever used.

I just used the stuff I was given in high school and college. In high school, I was given NTC's Japanese book and I used yookoso in college.

I also reccomend a book called Making Sense of Japanese. I forgot the name of the author but you can find it on amazon.

私は大学で"Grundstudium Japanisch 1, Grundstudium Japanisch 2"
を使いましたが自分で日本語を勉強するためにこの本は何かと不似合いであり。
GENKIという本が分かりません。
other than that, you're sure you want "享年" and not "今年" ?
