it kinda makes you think about how often the police screw up!
This is a Sig. It's horribly out of date.
yeah half the world is total Screw Up.

For the thousands upon thousands of criminals the police put away to make the streets safer, they are condemned for the arrest of one innocent man.
Nevermind the judge as well, for surely the judge had no hand in the sentencing.
You're all so quick to put down the police. You're idiots, nothing else.
Sagat, you're rarely any better.
I wonder how this will affect him being able to find a job? Explaining that he didn't work for the last 22 years because he was falsely imprisoned ought to attract some interesting looks from interviewers...

This is the price we pay for using inductive logic in our legal systems: They don't always get it right, and that's a calculated fact.
Hey look, Japan made a movie about me!
The reason the police were put under such scrutiny in this case was because of the fact that the reason the man was put away was because of the forensics.. or lack thereof. The fact is that they still were not to blame, but you can see where people would get the mix up. The judge really had nothing to do with it, anyway. They just looked at the facts presented. The only people at fault were the witnesses.
Forensic science wasn't used or wasn't highly regarded as fact in 1985. When he was falsly accused, it can't really be told how they came to him as a suspect unless you were to follow the case from the begining. Obviously, there was some fault in the victim's testimonials. The fact is that he was arrested, tried and imprisoned, all without enough fact to prove him innocent. It wasn't the fault of anyone in the legal system; just that they had enough evidence to convict, but not enough to acquit him. When we got the technology to study things like DNA, the case was probably reopened and the man was found innocent based on something the common person wouldn't have even believed was possible twenty years ago.
It doesn't seem like you read the article. It doesn't seem like anyone read the article.

I think, there may have been a bit of racism and classism in play during that trial.
Back, by popular demand! Now with new avy.
Me and my sick, twisted humor find that kinda funny actually. I knew the police can be pretty stupid, but this...this only proves my point.

I stand firm in the fact that the police were not at fault. The testimonials of the girls were probably what put him away and the police had no idea what forensics were, I'm sure.
How are the police stupid, in this case? I'd really like to know why everyone thinks this.
