As the title says: What's your weapon of choice? Post reasons why. Mines a tie between the scythe and a whip.

I like the scythe because it looks cool and can be one blow leathal yet not kill instantly if used the right way.

I like the whip for the sound effects and I'm attracted to them for some reason?

Bow Staff- More for show now then practical, however still fun to learn. It's also funny to know a guy with a broom could kick the crud out of someone >_>

I'd say the Sporksaber would be my preferred weapon, as it can easily be disguised as a simple spork until things need killing, at which point it turns into a cheap, yet effective, lightsaber.

But my vehicle of choice that can act as a weapon would a tank that shoots swords. Unfortunately, the tank that shoots swords is so classified that no one but the UnIlluminatied and Mooninites have images of it.

Why?

Because bombs cool and they go boom. I like boom. If not that, then a bazooka. Something quick and easy, so that I won't have have to waste time working any harder than I should. That, and it pretty much kicks the crap out of most afore-mentioned weapons. So I'd win, and winning is the only thing that matters in life, besides my Christmas list.

If dinosaurs count, then I'd like to have tarbosaurus. Yeah, definitely better than a goldfish.

2 weapons of choice.
A Lightsaber, Because I can be like "HEY, GEORGE LUCAS, LOOK WHAT I HAVE! AND YOU DON'T GET ONE!"
And my second choice...Any of the other 4, really...They all have the ability to exterminate( Or EX-TER-MIN-ATE!!!) life on an entire planet without really doing much.

So unless my enemy is Doctor Who,The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, A water farmer with a photon torpedo, or an orphan with the destiny to save humanity...I'll do alright.

Guns. Guns because they > any close ranged weapon from a distance longer than 7 feet. Within 7 feet its debatable depending on the skill of the melee weapon wielder.

Outside 7 feet you're pretty much guaranteed to win with a gun.

BUT WHAT TYPE OF GUN SAGAT LOL you may ask?

Revolvers. I have a thing for them. Pistols are nice and all but are cold and lifeless, revolvers are something. Ignoring their awesome aesthetic appearances (ie the western ones with the gold vine engraving all over it) a revolver is far more accurate and powerful than a pistol.

While lacking the speed and ammo retention pistols have, if you are a pretty good shot, you don't need 15 rounds.

And I am not talking about a typical, cliché .357 Magnum. Those are annoying to use and hold. My personal perference is an Army .45 or Smith and Wesson .22 - yep just a regular ol .22

While not combat effective, there are some neat tricks to do with revolvers. Also - speed shooting - far more effective with revolvers than pistols because it's easier to manipulate the hammer if you're skilled as opposed to pistols which are far more automotized. Think of the whole "why drive a manual vs automatic transmission" for cars to understand that.

...so it should be no surprise why I love Revolver Ocelot in the MGS series.

Raipier- Thecombat style is elegant yet deadly. Their's a reason officers caried these things even into WWII, the're deaadly and beutiful works of art.

Another personal one I like is Ivy's chain blade of SC2. That is an awesome weapon, even if it is a bit kinky in Ivy's hands.......yeah

I would have to say my weapon of choice would be a caber.

Although it's taller than I am and weighs much more as well, I can actually hold it up fairly well on my own and, unless you have a gun, you're not getting anywhere near me with a giant, wooden pole in my arms.

Also, if you know how to throw it right, it becomes a long range weapon! Hoo hah!

Assuming you mean something like shown in FF:VIII, where a large blade was attached to the end of a pistol, you'd be better off omitting the gun part entirely.

1. Having that much weight on the end of the gun will make it akward at best to aim single-handedly.
2. You risk cutting your hand open if you try to hold it with both hands.
3. A long blade will make it difficult to aim. There's a reason shotgun riders of the Old West sawed off their shotguns.

So, far from the ultimate weapon.

Also, to they who said lightsaber, what're you going to do when Grand Empire(formerly People's Republic) soldiers search you down after reports of a lightsaber-weilding maniac? You'll likely end up like just about everyone after Order 66. I can simply say it's a spork, and even demonstrate the sporkiness by eating with it.

Until the day they replace the bolt/hammer and magazine feeding systems of hand held firearms with electronic/magnetic feeding/chambering/firing systems, a gunblade is going to be a dream and will never be practical.
