Not sure if you all know (you probably do, as it's all over the news channels), that Suddam was officially hung by the people of Iraq today, at 10:00 PM EST. Not sure what kind of retaliation this will trigger, but hopefully it will not go as far as war.

But I am glad to say (a lot) of the people of Iraq, will be able to sleep well tonight.

He was one of the few to face the death penalty and "justice" if you will, yes, but a large majority of dictators died in no less important ways - ie betrayal, exile, etc. Fitting punishment and just as bad really. It's one thing to be hanged, its another to be poisoned by your family or lose a key battle and be exiled to a crappy island.

You brought up Hitler .. that has no relevence here. Hitler lost the war, had his key advisors and Generals essentially desert him, and shot himself knowing he had failed. So what if he could not be tried like Saddam? Death is death.

As far as bin Laden .. a few different theories of whats going on there. I have my own beliefs and naturally, will not share them here - same reasons as per usual. All I will say is that they could have had him in Tora Bora .. and again on a key pass near the Pakistanian border, it's name eludes me at the moment.

well alot of people have lost family and freinds because of him. so they really do have reason to celebrate.
one guy in australia was on the news telling how he lost 61 family members because of suddam.
brothers, cousins, fathers, etc.
there are so many partying over this and they really do have a good reason too

That has not yet been confirmed. Btw, those who celebrated were maybe of the shia or the kurds, but sure not followers of the sunna. And sure not christian minorities. Killing a leader is probably the dumbest thing you can do. But people keep on waking into the same old pitfalls as usual. When will they ever learn? Look at Jesus. If he was just imprisoned to rot away, nobody would be a Christian today. In war, there is nothing more dangerous than a martyr.
