The trees are singing across the night
And the flames of fire seeking light
Crash through the window into my sight
To char me down to the ground with a cry
But I would not mind it if I died
So now I’m floating in the sky
Waiting to return to the ground and sigh
And think what it is like to be
To have the world agree
And whether I will survive the crashing comets fall
And as you listen to the call
You will find your ashes spread across the sky
But do not mind it if you die
Theirs a clock inside my chest
Which is ticking off ‘til final rest
Will bring back around the game
Flowing through another name
Taking all I had the same
It all that I was before save for
Now I’m a girl this time
And my mother yells with tubas and balloons
Her tongue to soft for speaking as she swoons
And than the petal falls from the rose so high
But I do not mind it if I die
And as the waves receeds
And starts to bleed
Itself across the shore of my design
I will scream to see
The world set free
With two mouths for singing in the grime
As it encrusts on me
My mother’s skin
Now I am somebody I don’t know
But look at the sheets
Where I was born
The little dancing children’s feet
Are now broken up and torn
By the road I tread
With someone’s head
And I will wait here till I can sigh
Away my life and die!
