Should they make a new SEGA platform?

Really, their latest platform was the Dreamcast...and they stopped making more platforms, but made more games. I'm not saying that they should stop making their games..they're fun to play xD They should just take a break on that and make a new SEGA platform. Should they?

Sega should stick to just making games now. I actually liked the Dreamcast a lot when it came out but the lack of available good games at the time killed it. It seems like tey got lazy after Genesis and just decided to not really compete with anyone else. And since everyone seems to be losing money on the systems anyway, they might as well just stick to trying to make great games for everyone else.

I do miss the old sega I once knew, but theyre just not what they use to be. They can barely even make good games now days, so an actual system by them probably wouldnt be a good idea.

I loved the Genesis. I loved the dreamcast, I found nothing wrong with either system. Great games (Vectorman? C'mon you can't get better. Power Stone? So good!), Reliable. mine still works and so do my friends' who still kept theirs, my genesis also still works. And they both had huge game libraries.

rumours on game forums are talking about a dreamcast 2. rumours started when 2 new games were released for the dreamcast about a month ago O_o
but there's also a rumour about apple making a console, but what do they know about playing games? ^^;

Hell, if my genesis could withstand my abuse (Meaning getting so pissed at a game that you end up mauling the console), then you know it's reliable. It has its battle scars, but sure enough it still works.

Sega shouldn't make another console, and for one reason alone. They tried, and they failed. Like the wise, wise words of Homer Simpson.

"You tried, and you failed. My solution, never try."

EDIT: Whoever made Powerstone for the PSP was high on something while they were making it. That by itself gave it the popular name of "Powerstoner" from where I live.

Well, the PS2 came out soon after the dreamcast did, and pretty much put it to shame. After that they did not make another console, and that's the way it remains. Sounds like a failure, doesn't it? (Even though it WAS a good console.)

The Dreamcast was definitely where Sega did the least wrong, sure. But it was still a pretty poor plan. It's what I call too little, too late. It was a pretty good system, but it was too late to be in the N64/PSX generation, so it found itself competing against the PS2/XBox/Gamecube.

Just couldn't stand up to it.

SEGA is great and all but, they should really just stick to making games...which is what they are great at.

I don't think Sega should make another platform. The dreamcast will pretty much always be considered a good console so, it's done its job. May the sega platform rest in peace....but I agree with everyone when they say they make awesome games.
