New at This

I'm fairly new at editing pictures so I was wondering if some of you better artmakers can see my pics & give tips or somethin'.I made these kinda big.





I'm currently making new ones but I still lack experience and need tips.

They're HUGE O_o are the supposed to be sigs?

The characters don't look extracted too badly, but the edges are SUPER blurry. I'd suggest rather than hiding a poor extraction job by blurring it learn to extract better. Its probably 60% of a background is the character. Learning to extract well is a very valuable tool when doing any graphics work.

Shadowing is very simple and takes up space, but is probably the first thing all novice people do. I'd recommend finding some way to take up space rather than just shadowing another picture in the bg.

I know, I have to start learning new methods of making stuff. I knew just making them how I wanted wouldn't help but coming here to get advice from better people probably will.

there are a lot of photoshop tutorial sites out there, instead of using their stock filters and layer effects try making some of your own. Great wallpapers take 20-30 hours (for me and most people I know). I think the fastest I've ever gotten one done is 1 week, but I worked on it an hour every day and then from 8-6 on saturday.

Don't fall under the misconception that cranking them out as fast as you can is the way to go. Take your time with one making it great rather than a few good ones. You'll find that really helps hone and improve your skills.
