I tried to be someone else, but nothing seemed to change. I know now, this is who I really am inside. Finally found myself fighting for a chance.I know now, this is who I really am.
lol, my friend did something similar to that last year. XD Money was tight so she bought a load of cheap photo frames, took some pictures her daughter drew in nursery school and sent all her family her 2 year olds artwork (Which wasn't really a bad idea)Originally Posted by Aeramis&Helenus4EVER!!!
Now I was in the store today and as the last of the Hallowe'en stock was disappearing I Was watching it get replaced with Christmas stuff >.<
We don't have Thanksgiving in November in Canada we had it In October, So in all honesty after Hallowe'en the Christmas decorations will start going up and people will start celebrating. >.<
It's still to early, talk to me in December about Christmas. I mean sure I'm thinking ahead of what I Want to do for my family and stuff but I'm not Rushing out and buying decorations so I can decorate my house.
NOOOO!!! I like the decorations out then. It's December.Originally Posted by chibielena

Which is another reason why I don't need to be reminded of it until December arrives.

Even though you could probably refer to me as an atheist now, I still celebrate Christmas with my family. Even non-religious people can feel the spirit of Chrsitmas around them once December hits. I love to get gifts, but the way that Chrsitmas brings out the giver in me and the people around me..it's a beautiful thing. And by "the people around me", I don't mean the idiots who will be fighting over annoying, giggling Elmo dolls as I try to purchase a video game or something at Target. They suck.
Oh yeah, stuff I want:
- A Nintendo Wii
- Various games
- New clothes
- Home internet ("But Mommm, I need it! C'mon, everybody has Internet!" - I know, it's not true, but I'll end up saying that)

I usually don't get excited about Christmas anymore. It's just another holiday, the thing I enjoy most is seeing my favourite relatives. As for what I am getting for people I have nuuuuu idea. Browsing online stores to see if I can find stuff my girlfriend might like, she is my top priority.
nothing ever spoils my joy of loving you,
of looking in your eyes ... i couldn't be that blind
that i won't crave for you
and still we dance all alone
I always look forward to Christmas.
Get time off from classes, get to see family I hardly get to see like my sister for example that lives about 2000 miles away from me, and other stuff.
I'm as graceful as a gazelle galloping over glistening green grass with it's head on fire.
Anything you want to say to me? PM me.
Maybe because I spent quite a while working in retail, I have had the Christmas spirit completely sucked out of me. I could not believe my eyes earlier in September when all the department stores started carting out the Christmas gear and putting it on the shelves.
I remember back to my years in retail watching as the gear started coming out earlier and earlier every year. I know what the signal means.
-A rush of angry thoughtless consumer automatons blaming the poor person at the counter because they were too slow or stupid to get whatever is the latest stupid gimmicky toy for their screaming brat before they got sold out.
-Annoying Christmas carols played over and over and over non-stop, for hours on end.
-Not being able to walk to the lunchroom, even with a jacket over your uniform without being stopped by some jerk demanding that you tell them the price, barcode number, texture, and recommended placement in the lounge of their house, which you have never seen. Only to scream at you when you admit you don’t know but will get somebody that does.
-Having to wear stupid, itchy Santa hats on the weekend of the Christmas launch in November. Even though it’s November, and the Christmas junk has been rammed in your face for 2 months, and since it’s in Australia and in the heart of Summer, with the air conditioner broken, the thick white fluff is causing you to sweat like a hog.
-By the time it’s December you are praying for Christmas to end, and by Christmas Eve you have to swing by the liquor shop to celebrate the 1 day break before Boxing Day sales begin. And now the store is crowded with obnoxious brats blowing their Christmas money on said stupid gimmicky toy version 2 and long lines of rude yuppies demanding to return the Christmas gift they didn’t want from their dying grandma, only to abuse them when they don’t have their receipt or any evidence that they purchased it from the store.
So deck the halls with wads of money, put on your angry consumer face. And please spare a thought for the poor drones working in the shops for a pathetic wage. This is the season of hell for them.
Christmas is for me far away...
The nearest holiday is for me Halloween, altough I'm not free to do what ever I like then.
That's the reason why I don't think from now on what to give the beloved ones through all the Christmas time.
Argue with me, if you don't think so!
I believe SGI said it ALL!! O.O I couldn't help but laugh during some parts of your post >.<;;
Gouki, you mentioned having food fights? LUCKY!! hehe... as long as the precious stuffing isn't involoved.
I've become more and more of a grinch when it comes to christmas.... like we're celebrating some carpenter's birth by eating pie and drinking alcohol['spiked eggnog']. When I'm in the mall shopping everyone is just so rude and unwelcoming... can't blame them though[see SGI's post] I'm not gonna say any garbage like 'x-mas is about giving' yeah... sure, I'll believe that when we start educating homeless starving children and feeding healthy rations to the needy... rather than buying ipod nanos and video games for one another in these big cities that even have stores....
The only thing I want for christmas this year is the balance of the extremes of wealth and poverty, maybe not overnight but as one step at a time. I don't have anything to offer anyone for christmas in particular because I think it's an overated dogma.

*sigh*.....
It'll be ages before Christmas comes. And us Americans haven't even had Thanksgiving yet...so I'm not jumping ahead. Its healthier.
~Thanks, Souhi! I heart it!~
I don't see what the big fuss is about Christmas, anywho. Wasn't it supposed to be about celebrating the birthday of Jesus or something? Now look at what it's become... -_-;;
Naughty Boy: SANTA! I WAS GOOD, I SWEAR! PLEASE GIVE ME THAT NEW iPOD FOR CHRISTMAS!
Santa: *slaps the boy with his sack full of Nintendo Wiis and PlayStations*
Back..
Don't celebrate Christmas, but I still have fun with it.
I do celebrate Eid and its just as great only it comes twice a year and you get to get and give gifts and money and hang out with everyone
you know (or don't) Yeps.
Not really, more like stopping those silly heathens from celebrating the mid winter solstice. There is no actual record of Jesus being born at x-mas.
----
There is no time of year that I'm so cynical as when X-mas approaches, similarly, there is no other time of the year that human nature appears as obnoxious as it does around X-mas. Like drones people flock around, never questioning WHY they do so. They scamper about like roaches. The mindless music, the cheap blinking lights. It's just sickening.
