ENERGY DRINKS ~ OMG! hehe

Does anyone else here like energy drinks? Such as Full Throttle, RedBull, Red Rain, Jolt(my favourite). They are amazing and 100% caffeine! For those long nights of gaming...

I tried Full Throttle, Red Bull, Jolt, Rockstar and Xyience and to be truthful I only find and like the Rockstar one. I drink too much of it for my own good I think..

I don't like them, but alot of my friends drink them like water ( I, instead prefere diet coke thank you very much).

They now drink alot of Blue Bear, sort of a cheaper version of Red Rooster, which is a cheaper version of Red Bull. They only buy that one because they can get it by the shop outside school for 99 cent for 2 cans. They really are quite creepy when they are giggling at the back of english class hyped up on caffiene.

Like I say with soda, the more caffiene, the better. the Jolt energy drink (citrus flavor) is my favorite. Next in line in the Mountain Dew AMP, followed by the Sobe No Fear. I am not a fan of Full Throttle or Rockstar, and I hate Red Bull.

I'm a big fan of coffee - the original energy drink.

I do really enjoy Red Bull, though... I haven't tried a lot of energy drinks, but Red Bull basically tastes like liquid Sweet Tarts, and that's good enough for me. I like mixing it with green tea, though.

I just wish it wasn't so expensive. It's $2.00 for one of those little cans in my area. Maybe I should shop around a bit...

I don't drink energy drinks. I figure all the energy I need I got when I woke up. Probably the closest thing to an energy drink I've drunk is Powerade, or that is the only energy drink I've drunk. I prefer sodas, Gatorade, or even water to energy drinks, since I don't really want my body hyped up on artificial stimulants.

Second, someone explain to me how caffeine, a substance that releases adrenaline and dopamine into the bloodstream, thereby increasing heart rate and stamina, is any worse then a Sports Drink? Most of you people don't even need Sports Drinks:

It's really not necessary to replace losses of sodium, potassium and other electrolytes during exercise since you're unlikely to deplete your body's stores of these minerals during normal training. If, however, you find yourself exercising in extreme conditions over 5 or 6 hours (an Ironman or ultramarathon, for example) you will need to add a complex sports drink with electrolytes. Where as Caffeine is ergogenic (increases mental and physical capabiliy) with the only downside of reducing your body's fluid levels. If you aren't sweating like a mad man, Caffeine will give you much more energy with little to no downside with moderate use. If you are... fruit juice is still probably better for you then an Energy Drink. You don’t need "electrolytes" if you aren't active for long, long periods of time.

Also, notice I ignored the sugar content... because Sports Drinks and Soda both have loads! It's stupid to argue that Energy Drink < Sports Drinks when you don't even know how the two work.

1. B vitamins are good for everyone, and are a recommended part of one's daily diet.
2. Sports drinks are only recommended if one is doing long and stenuous exercise. For instance, I run, minimally, 9 miles every day, and up to 16 once a week, at a 7:00-7:30 min/mi pace. At that point, I rarely drink sports drinks, asthere is no need for me to drink them. Even with my running, it is not enough for my body to demand electrolytes. If one drinks a sports drink without needing the electrolytes, it causes excess, and too much of a good thing is bad.
Also, I may not that sports drinks are not necessarily for keeping up energy, as much as recovering it after a workout.
If one is not exercising and wishes for a drink to give them energy, a highly caffinated beverage is the best choice.

I like the Diet Rockstar ok, but I am not big fan of energy drinks.

They really don't do anything for me.

I have never had any hyper effect from them or any other caffeine drink either.

I guess I am immune.
