Jump, jump, sproing sproing.

Joey, stop, Joey, quit.
Joseph, next time, use the pit.

Clean the pouch, clean it well.
Little Joey makes it look like hell.

Munch the grass, chew it all.
Hey! Look! I found a ball!

Struggle! Gnaw! I'm not a pet!
I swear to god, I'll get out of this net!

Box for money, box for fun.
Box out the ringmaster and run!

Run away as fast as you can!
The S.S. Aussie! A floating tin can!

Hop aboard and stow away.
Arrive in Austrailia in the next few days.

Jump ashore and there you'll see,
Little Joey living peacefully.

See him, the wife, and kids.
Now give your farewell bids.

Your life is complete. Your heart is at ease.
Finally, you can die at peace.

Joey and mommy start it again.
Joseph Junior's life can begin.

I have to say that I actually like this one. The particular format of the poem is humbling, and defers the reader's attention to the story, not its style. It's a cute and silly piece of work, which is frightfully refreshing to see.

But I actually read it twice. I'm still getting a kick out of it. And I must say, I'm glad it ryhmes; I'm a big fan of rhyming.
