**Hmmm...First love...I thought for the nearing of the end of summer's warmth that it would be fitting to write about it (with the impending doom of going to a brand new college and all)...Usually summer is an ideal season for someone to say "I love you" before they're gone.**

First Heart's Confession

A simple three words...
Frightening me in wonder like a horde of attacking birds.
I stare unable to let my lips speak...
I watch as your eyes wait for what you seek.

How could you say what you did?
Who am I to open pandora's box's lid?
Why do you ask of someone like me?
Wouldn't you rather have happiness and remain free?

Chills run up and down my spine,
as I wonder if this life is really mine.
What challenges will I face,
in this unrelentless heartbeat of a race?

Fluttering softly like a butterfly's wings,
I can't imagine what the future brings.
For one such as you and I...
It takes everything not to cry.

Help me to understand exactly why,
I'm the one in which your feelings lie.
I'm nothing other than what you see...
So how can this reality be?

I can't seem to refuse...
As I suddenly realize there's little to lose...
Tell me it isn't true...
How could such a broken me fall in love with you?
