i use winMX music. as far as i know its just limewire pro except its free. you get a turbo charged connection and the layout is just the same. i like it

Limewire is chock full of viruses if you don't know what to look out for. Or at least that's what I've been told and have read. I've been using Limewire for well over a year now without the slightest hint of a problem =/ If it does crash my PC, there are plenty of other programs to use.

well I use Shareeza...or some program that was name like that....then my com crash twice....cause of the virus...>_>....so now I use limewire....it does have spyware but bah my anti-spyware programs can handle it.=P
I used iMesh, Kazaa, and most recently Limewire. However, I quit.
Limewire doesn't have any spyware. That's it's selling point.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

No, your downloading malware killed your computer. It's not Limewire's fault you didn't Virus Check EVERYTHING.
Or alternatively you could, as I'm sure Diesel would say, switch to Linux and not virus check everything.

I had limewire but then people I know were getting caught and fined $4k for every song they downloaded without permission. After that I got rid of it
In a related subject, it's going to be interesting to see how the Swedish piracy party copes in the upcoming election. They've got more members than the smallest party to make parliment (you need 4% of the votes to get seats in parliment), so they might actually have a chance.

I use LimeWire for music files. For everything else I use Azureus or mIRC.

I used to use Bearshare before it decided it didn't like my computer anymore. A shame, it was the best imo. And for those...hehe "special files" I use Emule. (which is the worst p2p prgm ever)

it's rare you get caught downloading songs. However, most of the songs I download aren't even licensed. Limewire has never given me problems with my computer.
EVERYTHING is protected by copyright, excluding a very small number of things that are explicitly released into the public domain.
Unless you are given explicit permission to do so, you are comitting copyright infringement when you're downloading anything (excluding webpages, they are implicitly assumed to be free to access, unless otherwise stated) off the 'net.
Copyright is automatic (you don't have to "register" your creations), international and lasts for a very long time, often more than half a century.

Lesse. I use Limewire, Bittorrent, Bittornado, ABC, mIRC, and sometimes Kazaa if it feels like working. I've used Ares, and numerous others.
