Default Awesome Games You Never Hear About

Alrighty, the basic premise of this thread is to highlight games that don't get the attention they deserve, and are overshadowed by mediocre, albeit more hyped, games.

Example: Although there are a lot of people who've played Star Ocean for the PS2, how many have played the PSX or SNES versions (Star Ocean: The Second Story is by far my fav, but I haven't had a chance to play through all of Star Ocean). SO:TSS probably had one of the most involved skill systems in a console RPG I've ever seen, and the amount of time you could waste making items is ridiculous.

If you have a game that never got the attention it deserved, post it here, and tell us why it deserves to be called an awesome game.
Remember, for every interesting or cool sig you read, there are at least 10 boring sigs that make you hate reading sigs.

You know the fact the game has so many sequels should tell you it was pretty popular.

Not necessarily. I really only know of like three or four people who've played through SO:TSS, but I know dozens who've played through the PS2 sequels. Success and popularity are not necessarily always related.

The Star Ocean people -never- heard about would be the Star Ocean 3, Eternal Sphere;Simply because it was never released in non japanese speaking or reading countries.
