    Default Clerks

Im hoping misc. is the right place for this.

Previews for Clerks 2 made me feel nostalgic, so much so that I dug out Clerks from my basement...only to find that the casette was broken and couldn't be used. So, I downloaded it. I long since forgotten how funny the movie was since it was years and years since me and my neighbor watched that R rated movie and thought we were badass. For those of you who have NO idea what Im talking about...

Clerks is a movie written by Kevin smith, who most of you may know as Silent Bob. The movie is about two Clerks who sit around all day and do almost nothing. There is Randal (played by Jeff Anderson) who runs the video store. He is a cynic who has a love for pornography and belittling the customers. Dante (played By Brian O'Halloran*sp?*) runs the "Quick Stop" a convienince store much like a 711. He is a callow, fickle man who doesn't know what he wants. He believes the world is against him and blames other's for his shortcomings. Nevertheless, he is a likable character.

The movie comes off as pretty stupid, however there are some deeper, more intelligent aspects to this movie. I highly recommend. (Note that it's rated R, and for good reason. Cursing (a whole lot), Lewd Sexual Remarks, drug use, etc...)

Clerks also was aired (for two episodes) as an animated series. The voice talents of the original actors were used for the cartoon personifications of themselves. The people at ABC thought the show was too racey for their network, so they took it off the air after only 2 episodes. There were, however, 6 in all. You can find them on DVD if you look reeeeeeeaaaaaaallllllyyyy hard.

I am also greatly looking forward to Clerks 2. How will it compare to the original? Will it still be funny? Only time will tell. Also, Clerks 2 is in Color, which some fans disapproved of since the original was black and white due to low budget. I find that rather stupid. Production aspects such as color play little to no role in the actual film >=(
    stoopid fanboys.

ANYWHO, share your thoughts on the original, the series (if you saw it), and thoughts on the upcoming clerks two.

    Snoogins.

My friend here is trying to convince me that any independent contractors working on the uncompleted Death Star were innocent victims when it was destroyed by the Rebels.
    A classic.

Clerks 2 is one of the 3 movies coming out this summer that I have looked forward to. The others being A Scanner Darkly (which I missed) and Snakes on a Plane.

The previews have yet to be forced down my throat. That’s OK. I don’t want to know too much about the movies I look forward to.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

Im quite partial to the "perfect dozen" and "Jizzmopper" scenes, myself. Yet, that part got a fit of laughter out of me as well.

Clerks 2 must be good, it's one of those sequels that Hollywood just doesn't pop out of its arse. I'm really looking for to it, which is kind of rare. Most movies I wait for a rent, but I'm seeing this in theatres. I hope it's near as good as the first, but then again, sequels tend to be less-than-stellar compared to the originals.

Honestly, I have never seen the original Clerks, but I want to.

I do want to see the second one; it looks hilarious.

From the movie snobes at Cannes it seems this sequal is a hit.

Personally I love the original Clerks movie. Randal was as close to a diety as I had during my stint in the customer service industry. And his long order of highly suggestive pornographic movies right in front of a mother and toddler aged daughter looking for "Happy Scrappy Hero Pup"... priceless.

Of all the trailer bits i've seen, Randals steamrolling of LOTR seems like an instant classic.

Bumping a dead topic! Why? Because, my friends, I have seen clerks two. It has got to be, by far, the funniest movie I have seen in at least 3 years. It was...brilliant. Everything about it was great and VERY true to the original. I absolutely loved it. A must must must must must MUST see. Randal is still a god amongst men.

I saw Clerks 2. It was the best thing I've seen since Sin City. I really liked Elias, at least in so far as Randal made fun of him the entire movie. The P-Troll was especially priceless.

clerks 2 is hilarious! I was laughing so much until the "interspecies erotica" scene went to far. The best charactes is eliah. "There's nothing wrong with transformers! Okay, so if god created man and man created transformers, then there's nothing wrong with transformer's."

Now I really want to see the movie; I finally saw the first movie, and I found it hilarious.

I need to go buy my movie ticket and some popcorn and watch the sequel.
