David Blaine (that crazy guy, I never understand any of his stunts) has done it again. What are your thoughts on this self-proclaimed street magician? Is he the new Houdini, or just some crazy thrill seeker? Is he a genius? What's up with him? What is his definition of "magic"? Why does he do what he does?

David Blaine...I've been watching him in action for a while now (mostly his street magic), and some of what he does actually sends chills down my spine. Sometimes there seems to NOT be an explanation. Not a conclusive one anyway. And believe me, I am not one to be taken in lightly. I scrutinize. But, sometimes (more often than I care to admit), I fail to satisfy myself with, "Oh, that's how he could do that..." thoughts.

He uses his tricks (which are amazing to be honest) as a method of meeting people, apparently he was very shy and akward around people when he was younger and this was the medium which made people take an interest in him.

wow. i didnt watch him and his bizarre show about holding his breath under water. only magic show i like watching is the one my old chemistry teacher holds every year in june. now thats real magic (unless you understand the concepts behind everything he does which i do, so now its not as fun ;_; ).

Well he is good but the giant stunts that he soes are not magic there more like eh look what i can do. I feel as if one day he felt hey i should try being a water bubble for a long time. Or hey how bought if i stand on a long post for a long time. Or stay underground for a long time. No i don't like the stunts he does, but street magic yes. But he does not compare to chris angel. Man he walked down a building and walked on water. And i think he was the first to hover above ground.

David blane is cool, but Criss angel is cooler. about the former though. He is a thrill seeker. and he dos the things he does becuase he can.

Most ppl do it because they want to show the world that there is magic after all...and i think thats the message that David Blane is trying to tell us...(just my opinion) other than that....most do it or the thrill....

I think David Blaine became the big magician that he did because he was the first one to take it out on the streets and have a TV show about it. Not because he was a master magician. But, if you compare his show to Criss Angel's Mindfreak, David doesn't even compare.
