Battle Royale re-make

Ok now very few ppl know about the manga/novel/movie battle royale or alt lest what its about. unless you lived in japan. what would you think if there was an american re-make of the movie?
Its about 42 9th graders sent to an Island to kill each other. this BR act was pasted to make the puplic fear there goverment. thats just the jist of it.
its a very dramatic horror/action movie. I think It would be neat.

what are you talking about, tons of people have heard of it. The manga itself is among one of tokyo pops most popular and best selling mangas.

Isn't the movie only about ten years old? Why would they re-make it, even for americans if the original didn't get enough attention for a theatrical release. There is simply no way it would be re-made. Now if someone says something like what about ringu or the grudge I would like to point out those were both newer movies so re-making them seemed sure fire. With a movie that's getting up there in age and lets face it does NOT have mass market appeal it just doesn't make sense.

I don't like the sound of a Battle Royale remake, the novel and movie are utterly brilliant. And besides, an Americanized version of the movie would be more than likely awful, and probally edited to the max.

Absolutely NO! I've seen both movies, Battle Royale and Battle Royale 2. If americans even dare to touch it with the thoughts about doing the same thing, I'd probably go berserk. Some things are the best when they are left original.

Why would someone want to change a good movie into a piece of trash by making the americans re-do it?

I have to go with most people here, and say 'absolutely no'. I don't like remakes of movies at all, far less those of great films such as BR. And besides, Japanese do things far better anyway than Hollywood people. Sorry, all you Americans.

yes i agree to what your saying to sooome extent. BUT when the ring was made into re-make it made the jap version more secssfull. It was resled more ect, ect. BR was mad in like..., 2002 i think. If you saty close to the story but now adays it may be better with the efects. Ppl who don't like or care about anime/manga and japanese stuff would be able to see it. Think of it from an acting and exprince point of view. the manga was just toooo violent/gorry the book was really good and the movie was terrific but laking in some areas. i really think it would do well in theaters ect.
