Age old battle.Girls are smarter! No boys are!Well,we will just see about this.
Well im guessing wut you meant by that. Im thinking that pplz claims that girls are smarter because they are girls. Means guys will think girls are stupider...guys are smarter cos they support their own genders.
it doesn't matter what gender. we're all smart in our own way. our brain is caable of learning things just like others but..yea it doesn't matter what gender..even though some people act stupid.

yep, my brother is an example of someone who acts stupid. I think it's girls. When guys get around the age of 60, they start losing braincells . it's a factOriginally Posted by animeglobe

Gender doesn't have anything to do with intelligence. Yes, that may affect moods, but not overall intelligence. If women are so smart, how come theres never a dumb blonde male?

Your intelligence cannot be determined by your gender. Whether you are a man or woman, your intelligence is determined by the person. Each person is different, and has their own abilities, and talents, from being a genius, to averege, we all have our own way of thinking, so there is no way of comparing which gender is more intelligent. Think about it this way, a person may seem a little dumb on the outside, but what if that's just the way the person acts. Take Albert Einstein for example, everyone thought he was dim-witted, however it turns out that he was one of the greatest minds of our time. Besides, in my way of thinking no one is dumber or smarter than someone else, I believe we are all equal in our own ways. "It is not because I am genius that makes me smarter than everyone else, it is because I stick with the problem longer." A.Einstein
And there are 8 types of intelligence, so there really is no way of comparing which gender is more intelligent. ^-^

You're a ninny.
Intelligence isn't affected by sex. Good god. By the way, did you know that there have been more male geniuses than female ones? Just though you'd want to know. I guess it makes it hard to say girls are smarter, when you know that. Have fun with this sudden jolt of your 'facts'

Yes, there is a difference in our brains. Females think different from men.
That dosn't nessicerily mean one is smarter than another. Wemon have their strong areas, But NO ONE is good at everything. Some may be smart in calculating tough math problems mentally. While, another may be able to memorize things easily. One may be good at conventions, another may be bad at convensions, But good at using context clues or something. So, No I don't feel that one gender is better than another.
I once read an article, several years ago, which stated that before the age of 15/16 years old, females use 11% of their brain and males use 10%. After that age, the percentages reverse. I have not seen this stated anywhere else, and I no longer have the article in my posession, so I am unable to post any actual quote or url.
"The color fades along the intervals I follow."
i could make lots of hillarius comments but i'll skip and say no, everyones brain its same its just the speed of thinking calculation "IQ", there are people who are slow at calculatin or their brain is busy on other thought now they try to find the answer its like car accident and thats why they los the trace of the answer so thats why they sometime they want you to repeat the question, and girls are faster in calculating cuz they don't think many thought in one go boys do that cuz most of us are not orgonised.
brain is very twisted thing its hard to dwel and understand it, and the good and best part of the brain job is do our imaginations, without imagination there wouldn't be any anime manga, cars, plane and so on.
goodness me i thought of that in one go...
i must say even the great einstein was using very little of his brain, now imagin the power of brain.

Lordie, gender seriously doesn't matter. I go to a gifted school, and so do 70% of boys in my class.
It depends on the level of intelligence. If we're talking sheer, raw intelligence, men score higher on IQ tests. However, men score higher on the Spatial and math parts. Women score higher on art based things. Just the way it works out. It has something to do with genetics, I do know that. I just don't remember what it was. I'll have to look it up later.
Gender obviously affects brains. Like Krsnik said, males have better skills with spacial awareness, which is why a lot of girls have a problem in maths when visualising 3D shapes. I'm not too sure about girls being better in the arts. I think that's a bit of a generalisation since art is such an open area, to be honest. I know they did have a few strengths over males, but I can't remember what it is for the life of me...
I'm not going to be drawn into this battle directly, but I did read an interesting little tid-bit in one of my health books about this.
High levels of estrogen (female hormone) cause an increased risk to cancer.
High levels of testosterone (male hormone) can cause mental retardation...
I'll have to look those up again, but I'm fairly sure that's what was written.
Gender affects perception, not intelligence. Intelligence is a person's ability to learn, not what they know. Men frequently score higher on spatial reasoning because it is something that as a male they have more experience with whereas women score higher in other areas for the same reason. There are examples for both men and women that prove the opposite gender is capable of scoring just as high on a spatial/mathmatic test or verbal reasoning. Besides, most standardized tests are terribly invalid and biased.
There are many studies on intelligence but what seems to be the trend is that it is a combination of nature and nurture. Meaning you can be born with a higher compacity to learn, but you must be enriched to do so as you grow or you will not live up to your potential. In fact, your brain changes all the time--provided you use it. That is why if you are raised in a way that uses a lot of spatial reasoning, your brain keeps those pathways active and thus you score higher. Likewise, if you are raised to pay more attention to what a person says, how they say it, etc. you will probably score higher in verbal reasoning becuase your brain is used to using those pathways. This is also why schools have started to focus on how they teach something like mathematics, English, etc. It's amazing what you can do if society doesn't tell you it's a masculine or feminine "thing."
As much as we do know, there is just too much we do not know about the brain to explain everything about intelligence and learning. But in regards to gender, it has no bearing upon a person's intelligence. However, where a person grows up and how they are raised frequently effect how they perform on tests.

Artificial Intelligence is no match for Natural Stupidity.
My silence could mean you are not worth the argument.
"For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach." ~J.R.R. Tolkien
gender has nothing to do whether or not you are intelligent.
since females have more of estrogen (the growth hormone found in both males and females) many believe that females are smarter since they learn at a faster rate than males do.
intelligence is based off a lot of things (mainly genetics and environment) the least of which is gender.
Thanks for the sig Xey Oiz ^.^
Absolutely not. I read somewhere that women use only a tiny bit more of their brain then men, however, I also know that does not mean they are smarter. I really can't formulate an intellegent post today or argue very effectivily, hence the short and rather droll response.
All The Ways You Wish Could Be? That's me
Depends on the brain, not the gender...*cough*girls are smarter*cough*
I'd say that women have slightly lower requirements for intelligence, i.e. a good looking women can go through life required to think less. Not really a genetic thing, just a thing.
Ehhh, I dunno if I'll stick around. We'll see.

i don't think the gender have anything to do with brains, dude they're just playing dumb if you ask me. If people have brains they know what they're doing, they're not stupid, they don't use their brain for good. ^^

After reading MP2K's post, I have been reminded of something. Environment also plays a great role in determining intelligence, and the ability to learn.
We should also include heredity, as one's mind is formed from their parent's deoxyribonucleic acid (I love that word). What their parents, grandparents, and so on, do in their life will also affect what a person's brain will be like when they are born.

It doesn't matter what gender you are. Someone could be the smartest person in the world and it still wouldn't matter. What really matters is common sense.
