Subtitled or Dubbed?

Thats actually a tough one for me.
It depends on the animation really. I HATED the english version of Naruto with a passion, I cant even watch it. It was great subbed. Some anime have such horrible Subtitles its just sick. Like DNangel and DNangel are good examples.

I liked Tenchi, Gundam Wing, Gundam The 08th MS Team, Trigun, Full Metal Panic Dubbed (theres a lot more but I cant think of anymore at the moment). I usually watch anime Dubbed(unless It's too awful to watch) then Subbed later on. Some are better Dubbed and some are better Subbed.

i would say jap and subtitled, the voice actor say what is on the script's so that's my only reason why and sound's alot better too.

I just think original VAs capture the character and show more emotion than english VAs do. I dunno, that's just my opinion. ^^

I say Japanese with subtitles! It just makes for sense to me, and the dubbed isn't always as accurate as it could and should be. Though once and awhile it is fun to look at the English version ^_^. But I perfer Japanese alot more though..

Hm, in my opinion japanese with subtitles, is much better.
The dubbed versions really get on my nerves, I don't hate them, but they get on my nerves.
One reason is that in FMA in the english version they call the Nestor's stone, the "Philospher's stone" repeat of Harry Potter? O.o
Another is that when it comes to the voices for the characters, the japanese have better matches for each chracters persona.
Take Kagome ftom Inuyasha for example, her voice in english is high pitched and irritating, which doesn't exactly suit her chracter, in the japanese version her voice is slightly lower, and more fitting for her persona.
I have nothing against dubbed anime, i just find somethings about them irritating.

i'd rather have it dubbed because some times the subtitles go by way to fast -.- and its hard to follow

it also saves the troble of reading so you can pay more attention on the movie itself

hmmm thats a tricky one, depending on the show really. Personally i think the english dubs are usually rushed and sloppy. The voices are often repetitive, bit not always. Then again, depending on the quality of the subtitling, that can often be frustrating a well. Overall i enjoy the subtitles more though, less of a pain to listen to after a while.

To be honest, the philosopher's stone is the correct term to use. Why? When you look outside the box, you'd see that way before Harry Potter there were already hundreds of myths concerning the philosopher's stone. It's a major artefact in relation to Alchemy.

In other words: It should have been philosopher's stone to begin with.

Also they called it the Sorceror's Stone in Harry Potter. So basically the dubbed FMA was more correct than both.

I like how the Japanese people say things.
For example, The way Naruto's original dubber says "Rasengan" is different compared to if it's dubbed in English...
The Japanese dub is kinda "cool" or something that i like it very much...

Subtitled. Dubbing sort of gets on my nerves, because they always, ALWAYS seem to get these people with blatantly American accents to do it... no offence, but it kinda' wrecks it.
Now some dubbs, like Miyazaki films... I love. But anime series? I never watch dubs. I always watch the subtitled ones. Exluding Dragonball Z, of course. Who could imagine Vegeta without his oh-so-snidey voice? Not me, that's for sure.
But things like Rurouni Kenshin - I couldn't STAND the way they made Kenshin talk. He's meant to say, "This one" instead of "I" and "me", not repeat his last word. That put me off altogether.
I just depends on how well it's dubbed, I guess. But overall, I much prefer subtitles.

I'll take the English dubbed. One, because I usually like the English voices better. Two, my brother always asks me to read out what they're saying to him because he's not the best reader.

As far as I could read, the legal issues were between two Japanese companies, that has nothing to do with the Americans dubbing the show.

Depends. I usually like the subbed versions, cause I like to hear the original voices. Though, in some series, I like to watch dubbed. Like I said, it all depends on how they subbed -or dubbed it.

Subbed, definately. I dont really like dub because some jokes sound stupid when they transalate it. Like the ever popular, Naruto's "Believe it!" Its really annoying.
