To tell you the truth I really don't care much for this game!
my famliy Lorie, anime 911, Guilty Gear, blackfuse81, Jiraiya, animeglobe
I love the game.. The problem is, I really don't like the home pads at all.. Not even the hard pads. I love the arcade versions. I have spent... waaay too much on that game. I gotta admit, it's a good work out.. And a lot of fun.

once you start you can't stop for the longest time, if only i didn't suck with the pads ><
on the hard levels i'm forced to use a controller to keep up with my friend

I've only played DDRmax2 other than the rest...and that was for the first time. I started off by playing beginners mode, but once i though i could master it, i went onto trying out the heavy mode.
Hah...once i seen how many arrows were posted under one bar, i just broke down laughing...then to sudden tears. Playing heavy is just extremely challenging..well for someone like me, and i wouldn't dare to compete against the odds. i can't afford to twist my legs into a knot ball. So i only stick to standare...

I DOVE DDR (dance dance revolution, It's so fun)
The soft pads, the hard pads, none of them are the same.. You can't compare them to the arcade, and it makes me sad..Originally Posted by ssj4gogeta

Although I hate playing it at home.
Oh Oh Oh I know! Thats how my brother got skinny O_O Yeah my brothe has a $300 pad.Yeah i love it. I play it with the pad and the controller.
That game is interesting, It just goes faster and faster, You're actually learning at the same time from this game. it sees how smart you are with memory and sees how good your reflexes are, clever isn't it?XD

I am the king of DDR Max 2. lol.
You're right you can't compare the arcade ver to the home ver.Originally Posted by Member Name
The mats at home or made out of almost plastic and the arcade ones are made of metal.
But the thing you CAN compare is the song range. On the arcade DDR I played on only had 3 songs. The home ddd has over 130 songs (x-treme 2)
Also there is a speed difference on the arcade ver. the home ver has a much slower X3 speed (thats what i play on) The arcade ver basically stars on a X2 speed.

I like DDR; I'm not good at it. At all. Currently, I'm a master of the beginner mode, and barely surviving light mode. ^^ It's bunches of fun though; a great workout as well.
I've never played the home version, so I couldn't tell you. I'd love to buy it, just so I could hear "White Lovers" (I think thats the name...) all the time. That's my favorite song of all!
O yeah, Its an awesome game! i'm really really good at it! ^^

DDR is a fun game to play, especially with the different and fun songs and the good excercise. I just don't know why some songs are in some mixes but not in others. Like Dream A Dream, it was in DDRMAX2 but not in DDR Extreme or Extreme 2. Why is it like that?
Dream a Dream was my favorite as well ^_^.
My other favs that i only play on standare-
Tsugaru (Remix) ~ This is really fun to step to.
Hysteria 2001
A ghost.

Yeah, I've played it (drunk and sober). The games you can play with though....who the hell thought up of Strip DDR? Damn Ctrl-Alt-Del and that Winter-een-mas forum!
Anyway, I'm using a simulator at the moment called StepMania, and the gameplay in that is a little different.....some songs people have made require you not only to keep your feet on the right pad sections, but also use your hands to slap the pad when seperate arrows come up....bleh, here's a better explanation of it, taken from Wikipedia:
"Some patterns of arrows require the use of hands. This can occur when the player is holding two hold arrows (one with each foot) and more arrows continue to rise up the screen. Since the player can move neither foot without penalty, he must hit these other arrows using his hands. Alternatively, three or four arrows might reach the top of the screen at the same time. This requires the player to use hands to hit the third and fourth arrows; however, players with large feet sometimes use a single foot to hit two arrows at the same time."
I still need to buy a dancemat that can connect to the PC though, so at the moment I've been using the arrow keys on the keyboard....and I've been making my own stepfile.

The arcade game In The Groove has patterns like that. It's an interesting DDR alternative.Originally Posted by Storm Strife

That's because In The Groove is based on StepMania.
"In The Groove (ITG) is a commercial game that uses the StepMania codebase. To prevent unauthorized copying, StepMania was re-licensed under a less restrictive license (changed from GPL to the MIT License with the agreement of all coders, in exchange for their names appearing on the ITG credits screen), not requiring source code to be published on derivative works, and thus allowing ITG's copy protection to remain closed source."
