Down Fall AKA the best movie I have seen this year

I'm not sure how many of you have seen the amazing flic but if you like good cinema IE. nothing up right now. I highly recommend downfall which centers around Hitlers last few days before the end of ww2. A very powerful movie and the actor who plays Hitler (his name escapes me) is just wonderful. But you do need an attention spand to watch it since it is all in german (no dub) and is very long. But it is well worth it.

Huh, i guess im going to have to wait till it comes out on dvd or vhs cause it's not playing anywhere near here.

It's already on DVD it came out last year, I just didn't see it until recently.

Indeed, a good movie. Although sometimes movies get somewhat cheesy by getting too much in the intimacy of the character, that one proved better than the usual manichean cliché; good allies, bad nazis. For there is humanity also in violent and degradant acts. The movie also reminded me of a short story by Dino Buzzatti, if I recall, which pondered and fancied what Hitler's youth might have been. Anyways, I'm drifting; good movie. See it. Or you'll eat mellow cat food. And the tin too.

Mm. I caught this one with Don SGI in Australia. The actor playing Hitler gave me chills he was so realistic. I appreciated the way it told its story without trying to play one side against the other. Too often a film tries to drive the audience into allying themself with an opposing side. Not this one. You're watching it unfold, not rooting for your team.
