Ah. Personally I think the Civ series sucks, and should've switched over to a real time system a long tima ago. You want an example how it could've been done? Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth. Many things are a like between the two, but I like LOTR better. Why? Its in real time.

I play the real time also. I just think that RTS's are more about resource farming and rushing than Strategy. I like setting forth a strategy of dominance that unfolds over 2-3 hours more than a Tank Rush that last 10 minutes. I'm old school like that.

And Civilization 3 isn't even the best turn-based I have. If you want something faster-paced, look for Master of Orion 2, or X-Com. X-Com is still the best turn based squad game ever, 12 years later.

True Strategy Masters should play Alpha Centauri, the only true sequel (not remake) to the Civ series, and my Favorite Game Ever.

Well, when you're playing against the comp in an RTS, you can set up master stratigies. Or just go for complete overkill. Can you say five Mumakil, 3 trolls, hundreds of Rhun soldiers and Haradrim spearmen? And the Nazgul. Very good, boys and girls.

Yeah, but the Computer in RTS's are either too easy, or capable of doing 50 things at once.

At least I don't have to worry about that unfair advantage in a TBS.
