Could you choose?

My twin sister asked me this question, Say you had a sibling that you loved so much you'd risk your own lifein the toughest of situations to save them, but then you also have one friend that has always been there for you just like a sibling...Both of them mean the world to you and it would be hard to live in a world with out them. Now say that there was an accident and both your ssibling and friend were knocked out and you only could save one of them. Which one would you choose?

My Answer:

It would be a very hard decision for me but...I would choose my sibling, simply because they are family and although I treated my friend as family, they are not. You can call me cruel but I would be devistated...Not being able to save the other...would huant me for a long long time...

Well, I would pick the same as you, but I wish that I can save both because they are so important to me. It's really hard to move on when you see your loved ones die.

I would save the sister as well. But you also have to think this way. In a situation like that, you might react purely on instinct, and save the one that is closest to you, since you can grab her more easy and get her to safety.

Well, I'm not much for the bitter sweet but this would be my answer.

I would choose the sibling because even though I would feel horrible about leaving a friend to die, I would never be able to forgive myself if I let a family member die.

Hmmm, I would say sibling as well. Although it may be painful to see one go, Family is important.I don't want to sound cruel either, but there's the slightest chance that the saying "A friend today, an enemy tommorow" might possibly happen....I need to think this over some more, but I'll stick with sibling for now (paces)

I'd save my sibling.

Family is different. You're stuck with family. If I let my brother die, or any other family member die even if I wasn't so close to them, I don't know what I would do.

It's not that I wouldn't feel bad if I let one of my close friends die. Friends do become your family in a way. But friends come and go, even some of the close ones. You'll have family forever, like it or not.

Wow... Well we can't choose both of them, so plan A can go shoot itself, and I think that choosing neither is giving up. It would be really hard.
With family there's an obligation to protect, and with friends it's more of a promise. I personally have never been one to intentionally break a promise, and I've always hated being obliged to do things.

If this friend was so close to you that you saw them as a sibling, then they'd be close to your family as well. That would mean that the sister that you could save would probably be telling you to save the friend, knowing that they'd be dying for another part of the family. But vise versa with the friend.

It would be difficult to make a good judgement call in this type of situation, so the action would be based purely on instinct. At this time in my life I find friends to be more important to me than family, even though I hold all my family members dear to me. So knowing that, I'd assume that I'd most likely save my friend.

I would also choose the sibling. I have three sisters, and the thought of one of them dying when I could have saved them is... devastating. I just wouldn't be able to live with myself, even though my friend would still be alive.

thing is i dont love any of my siblings like that.... so in reality if that happened i would choose my friend cause i dont even know any of my siblings. i do treat my friends as family but i wouldnt be able to help my sibling since all of mine live out of state.

Well i wouldnt leave a friend but if my familys in trouble than....i must cause they have my mother father mine or someone of my siblings ya no......but i will always have a guilt if i do so ill jus kill myself iight.

Well, I don't really know what sibbling love is like, but I know what true friendship feels like. The right thing to do would be to save your sibbling. But I would probably save my friend. Thats just the way I am. XD

I couldn't make the choice, I wouldn't, I would simply Die, because the people that are my friends are my family, they're the only ones who truly care about me......... but If I had to, I mean absolutely had to I would save my sibling, because I know that my friend would understand..... and do exactly what i did if put in the same situation.... and they would go to Shangri-La and I would meet them there....... they would be in a better place

instinctively you would go for sibling, but if your friend is an old friend and you know him/her befor even having sibling you might go for friend.

I would choose my friend. I have had so many family problems that I don't trust any of them. i have had a situation near the same way and i ended up choosing my friend so I know what i would do.

I'd choose my sibling, then I'd crawl into a bottle regretting my decesion and feeling responsible for my friend's death. After which, I'd most likely commit suicide, thinking I deserve an eternity in hell for what I did to my friend and his family. That is a very hard question to answer. I'm pretty close to my sibilings but I am really close with a friend of mine who is like a sister since we known eackother since we were toddlers.

If I had to choose it would my my sis or my brother b/c they are family. I would then go back and try to save my friend as well.

well this is hard........the thing is if they are really close people to me it's going to be hard to choose one........if I choose my sibling the thoughts of letting my frien die will hunt me forever and my friens family will hunt me too.......then if I choose my friend instead my family will hunt me for the rest of my life ...........so I think I will choose the one thats less hurt and it's fastest to save...........enyways thoughts and people are going to hunt me
