yah no, he's an okay president. Sure people say he's a no good waist of space, but i don't beleive that. He's doing his best to protect his country, and he's done his best. He's trying to help another counrty out of the slum's, he has tried to find weapons of mass destruction (I know there is none) but imagine if there was and we didn't go in to find it. I must agree. Bush is simply doing what he believes is best for the United States. Despite his good intentions, situations have often caused his ideals to backfire against him, or to fail. He is only trying to do his job, what he was elected to do. I find it rather annoying when people do not understand this. Now, do not get me wrong, I have plenty of problems with some of his ideals and bills which he has helped to pass, but I have respect for him. He is trying to do what he believes is correct, and do what keeps the U.S. safe.
If you want to blame someone for things that have gone wrong, do not blame Bush for everything. The blame can also be put on the Legislative and Judicial branches, as well as those who voted to put Bush in office...the citizens.

I think his personality is such that it appears--and maybe truly is--open and safe and many people respond well for that. He seems to have a rather "good old boy" type of persona. However, I totally disagree with him as a president. I don't know him personally so I refrain from judgement in that respect as I know far too many people who are one way as they try to perform their job and another when they are just another human being in the room. I think many of his proposals are hindering rather than helping this country and if you look at the war...well, I don't really think we should have gone over there in the first place. At least not to "help liberate" them. (Although I think there is a LOT more to it than just weapons, dicatorship and terrorism--which if I hear one more person defend bush relating 9/11 and Iraq I think I am going to squirt them with water.) I agree with helping, but not doing it for them. That only sets the people up for another failure. It interrupts the natural flow of a society and does not allow it to progress properly. There is a reason in Star Trek they have the Prime Directive. Yes, sometimes it is wrong, but you can often help without totally doing things for the other society. I'll refrain from ranting on him, but although I respect him because he is a human being, my opinion of him as president is quite low.

I'm not going to be bothering with this bickering, but I think it's important that the regular "the American people as a whole wanted him in office"-shait should be clarified.
Now, I don't have the exact numbers, but the point is not to bicker about details when the picture as a whole tries to demonstrate how Bush managed to get the seat both of the times. And I won't take it to the depths of explaining The United States Electoral College and all that, as it should be known by most people that decided to post in this thread anyway.

So, to sum it up as easily as possible.

American people, around 50% voted. Out of those 50% there were two major players. Those major players played equally throughout the run and the winner, Bush, barely won and as most suspect, by means less than honest. So, that would be about one fourth of the American people that did indeed vote for Bush. (I'm so clever with numbers, I know) And out of those he did get to vote for him, it would be mostly be far-right-wing or the somewhat overly orthodox christians, etc. And on a political scale with their power, they could easily amass around 25% of the American people. But still, that's NOT the ENTIRE American people. So stop blaming them for one lousy sod that epitomes the saying "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". 'cause if that's so, I guess Germany would be having trouble, Russia would be having trouble, China would be having trouble, Japan would be having trouble, yes, I think that about almost the entire world would be having trouble as it is unlikely that there isn't a single nation in the world that haven't suffered some point in history a "less than perfect" leader.

So to all you anti-americans sputtering shaite about Bush being elected and that makes every American the Devil himself. Well, the language filter here on the Forums won't allow me to say it. Good day <3

With what bush has been given, he has failed his nation. Leaving for 5 months to go down on your ranch right after your inauguration is unexcusable. Sure, he's done his best - but still. I feel he is an incompetent, stubborn and war-hungry leader(if you can call him that). He set out to do what his daddy could not do, and that was go after Saddam. He did not keep his domestic issue promises, nor did he try and help a struggling economy. He has allowed the rich to become richer and everyone else suffer.

1. Some people have posted that they hate Bush, but no reason.
2. Other people have posted that Bush won because of the electoral college.

Many of the people hate Bush and wish that he wasn't President but only like 35-45% of eligible voters had vote; if those people that didn't like Bush, voted for someone else, he would of not been President. Some people don't use that right that they have, that is to vote.

Bush had a lot of potential, so I voted for him the first time. Not the second.
+I do not like the fact that he is attempting for force his religous beliefs on the entire nation.

So the President of the United states is doing things you don't like, what are you going to do? Are you going to congress and seriously sign anything with your name, address and real phone number?

Are you one of the people out on the street holding those protest signs and being arrested by the police?

Are you one of the Arabian Oil tycoons that the United States struck secret deals with?

Did you vote or were you old enough to vote during that election?

If you answered "No" to any one of those questions, you really should'nt have the right to complain about the President. Yet, alas that whole "Free Speech" thing can be a thorn in the sides of those that need things done.

Sure, I don't like a good portion of his ideals, but I voted and I did my part trying to get people to vote.

I get what you're saying but, I'm sorry , in this day and age it is the safest thing to assume that people are'nt doing their part.
Look at Global Warming; It's still happening, no one is really doing their part.
Look at numbers of the homeless and hungry; no one is really doing all they can to help.
Hell, look a the number of Katrina Victims, no one is doing the best they can to help them.

It's sad, but that's the most confirmable thing in America is : People don't do their part.

Countless people blame Bush and if the same number of people who blame Bush for being a Bad President honestly voted he would'nt be the President. As they say "Next time you'll get more people to vote for your party."

Bush is a horrible president and he shouldn't have won the first or second election that he won. He was never fit for presidency and now we have a war on our hands to prove that statement. If I was old enough to vote I would actually do it just so I could give one more chance against him
